Thanks to all who attempted to help me with my banding/streaking issue. I finally resolved the problem.
I renewed the printhead and the issue disappeared!
My take on the issue, as revealed by very close scrutiny of the extended nozzle check, was that THE OLD PRINTHEAD WAS EITHER FIRING INK FROM THE INCORRECT (mispositioned) NOZZLES, OR THE "SPRAY" PATTERN WAS SIGNIFICANTLY OFF. Black (and other colored) gridlines were being printed in incorrect locations. As if the paper advance increment was off.
An extended nozzle check with the NEW printhead is as perfect as I can see.
Does anyone know WHY this might have happened, so I get longer printhead life in the future?
Anybody want a misbehaving i960/i950 printhead??
