Canon Easy Photo print no longer recognises my IP 4500 in Win 10. Been using it up to the Creators Edition.

I've a brand new IP 4500 in storage but looks like I've been wasting my time. If Canon don't get you, Microsoft will. Don't let the B--------- grind you down. Keep refilling or at least buy compatibles. OEM ink is like liquid gold.

Pro-100 is recognized no problem, but there may be a couple of important differences. First I have Canon Easy Photo Print EX, and Win 10 Pro. I have noticed that Win 10 Pro lets a few things run that others have complaint about with just Win 10.

I have however had problems installing legacy version CorelDraw Graphic Suite 4X. CGS 4X said no go on Win 10 Pro. I had to go back all the way to CorelDraw Graphic Suite 12; that installed properly on Win 10 Pro, and runs just fine.

I have a laptop running 32 bit Windows 10 with the "Creators Update". After the update I had to re-install printers as the installed printers were deleted. For printer only machines plug and play install works perfectly with one exception. CD label print and Canon Easy Photo Print can no longer see any CD print capable printers. For proper function of multi functionals, you need a driver from Canon.

To solve this problem you have to download and run a patch that adds CD print capability to the drivers supplied by Microsoft Update. The patch is named aomwin110ea23.exe and is no longer being offered by Canon for download, but here is a Canon website that still has it. Even if the webpage says it is for Windows 7 it also works with the newest Windows 10.

After you have run the patch and restarted the computer, Canon EPP should recognise your iP4500 as a CD print capable printer. Good luck.

I dont use Canon EPP for CD printing as I like the old CD Labelprint better. It has also been phased out by Canon, but it can be found here. This program also works with the newest Windows 10 version if you have installed the patch. For test purposes I have downloaded and installed Canon Easy Photo Print and CD printing works with an iP4300 that is very similar to your iP4500.

Both downloads were free from malware according to AVG Internet Security and Malwarebytes Antimalware. The number of kilobytes also checks with previous downloads, so I'm convinced they are safe.

Brilliant. I've rolled back from Creators Edition and everything's fine now. However, I've downloaded from your link and I'll keep it ready for when MS makes me update
