Also what inks, and from whom? AND is there a resetter available?

and finally.....waste ink whats the strategy.

The 9000 Mk2 uses CLI8 carts so that's maybe why you are having trouble finding them. I use Image Specialists inks made in the States & they match the Canon colours really well. Precision Colors are in Nth America (Canada) & Octoink in Europe (England) & most of us use these two suppliers. They both sell the full refill kit for the Pro 9000 along with a chip resetter & the carts are very easy to fill.
The waste ink tank is right at the bottom of the printer & is not accessible unless you take the printer apart. I just forget about the waste ink tank as it takes a long time before that becomes a problem.
Hopefully someone here can link you to some videos

Hi Rod,

Didn't think to ask you, I must be having a grey moment

I phoned a couple of shops in Melbourne and they are all gone. I was dithering last year and was there when Camera House sold their last for $550 :/

I got the cart number from the PC site by following the instructions, or so I thought.

I was also thinking that a dye printer would be better for club comps. The judges we get don't seem to like Fine Art Papers and tones......:(

Thanks for the pointer will keep going but I'm worried about the waste ink thing tho.

Cheers,

Andrew

Rod is our Aussie expert on most things upside-down so youre in safe hands with his advice.

Dont be worried about the waste ink at all, youd have to print thousands to get a waste ink warning
so it wont be a problem short term, anyway Epsons are the waste ink kings not the Canons.

On the subject of your search for CLI-42 carts, they do in fact fit and work in a Pro9000,
they are exactly the same cartridge as the CLI-8s with just a different name and chip on them.
