Can You Switch from Dye to Pigment Ink in a Epson 1400

I just orders a Epson 1400 and now I am doing my homework

I now think I want to use Pigment based ink and I guess it would be best to use it from first time than changing in mid stream..

Yes, changing mid stream would require flushing and bunch of other things...

You need to be sure you printer more regularly with the 1400 to ensure it doesn't clog and remember it's not intended as a pigment ink printer so your colour profiles will be out considerably and the printhead may well clog more readily too...
