Highest gamut and longevity can be achieved only with hi quality ink, I won't say only OEM ink because I have seen tests that for example EPSON ink + EPSON paper = no longevity at all. When EPSON + Kodak = very good print longevity.
I could dig the link to these respectable tests, but the point is everyone should make their mind if they need the longevity or the quality of prints. You can have both or just the Quality.
Third party ink and bad quality is the thing of the past. There is even methods how to make multipaper profiles (profiles that work for similar papers, and I mean you can print BW photos !) if your printer ink is controlled by RIP or is just very linear device.
