Brother MFC-870-J870DW Ink Absorber Full?

Is there a way to clean the "ink absorber", and how long does it take for it to fill up prior to getting the warning error message?

1 Yes is the answer they can be cleaned, 2 it could take years for that error warning to appear, so stop worrying..

The Brother inkjets have a routine that allows them to be reset from the keyboard/touch screen so yes you're fine.

I've had a few printer potty customers who've retrofitted a kit to their Brothers as well so it can be done.
