Can anyone shed some light for me on the topic of "How to make borderless prints" with a Canon i905d inkjet printer?

FYI, I'm using a Mac (OS X 10.3.9).

I can produce true borderless photographic prints by inserting the memory card from my digital camera into the printer, and outputting the image on photographic paper.

But there does not appear to be any such option when printing from within a Mac application, such as Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1. The Mac "Page Setup" command simply does not offer a "borderless printing" option.

Can anyone confirm, or clarify, this? Am I missing something obvious?

TIA.

I can only answer how it is done with a Windows system. On the page setup tab of the printer driver, check the box for borderless printing. I have assume (not a good thing) that the Mac is similar in operation.

For the benefit of anyone reading this, here is an answer sent to me privately. Hope that it helps somebody.

By the way, my original post is dated August 10, 2005 and this reply came to me Jan. 29, 2010 -- nearly FIVE YEARS later.

I came accross you cry for help to day I know a bit late err..
The answer is to click print (first box up is print layout 1 )
Now select the printer tab. (second tab from left bottom)
in this box select which printer you want to use
Dont bother with presets.
In the third box you will find borderless print,
but first you must select quality & media and set your printer to photo paper,
Then select borderless print from that list and then you got it ..

macjockey..

I sent you that mail thinking it would help you..

Maybe I was missing something and got it all wrong for you, so see if this helps.
I used CS4 to print photos on my Mac and it goes...
File Print
First tab select printer
Third tab select quality & media, now change media type to (photo paper) then set print quality
And last change quality & media, to borderless printing and hit print...
Thats how its done in Photoshop on my Mac.
I think this will work for you and maybe now youll get to print out all of your photos .. Good luck

It's hard to find dependable electrons these days to work at the Nifty-Stuff server.
