BJC-5500

I have old BJC-5500 Canon A2 printer. It accept 2 Heads Canon BCI 21 color or BC 20 black, I'm using most BC20 Head, it is for monochrome printing.
So problem is that printer no longer accepting BCI 21 color print head, when I replace BC-20 black head and put BCI 21 printer don't recognize color head, printer behavior like the old black is still on it. and on it display show that. I can even print pages from windows and that look like nothing printer mix color and doing job like the black is still on it.
So someone have experience with similar issue. I would like to have color back on it for printing A2 color graphics. I thinking of buying new head, and found some, do will new head fix the issue or problem is printer, advice?

I don't know if a new print head will make the printer OK again, but I think so. Here are 2 packs of print heads + cartridges at an affordable price at Ebay. It looks like they are still in sealed packages. I would give these heads a try.

I give a try... I just spent 30€, it is really nothing in comparison that mine printer become color printer again even at50:50 chance. ... Wish me lucky..

Not working.... I put new head and didn't recognise it. Then I try to clean contacts on printer where head come, but after that the black is not working.... Printer response like no head at all. So total waste I think. Can I do somthing, I have feeling like the problem is not big but it cannot be repaired....

It is a pity the new print head didn't help. I guess the print head and cartridges were new and in sealed package as shown in the Ebay ad?

Maybe a service manual will be helpful? I found no free downloads of the BJC-5500 service manual, but here is a commercial download at 10$. Beware of sites that claim to have the manual for free if you get a one month free trial subscription and want your credit card info "for verification" .

The A4 model BJC-4300 used the same print head and cartridges as the BJC-5500 and that service manual is available for free. Maybe that manual will help?

Thanks for manual i will stud of 4300 and see can I do something, problem is that printer can't print even black. Yes heads are come orginal sealed with inks on it like on picture...

I foun in troubleshooting mine problem and unfortunately the logic board is problem or cable, I test all cartridges with multimeter and the are ok.....
