My OEM ink tanks started running low. Been dreading that as the new ink replacement would be 1/3 the price I paid for the printer.
After trying to find info on the web, there was not much I could locate specifically on the ipf 6300. A bit more on the ipf 8300 which I think is an identical system, just a narrower paper? Hence this post.
Debated on OEM ink or risking the print heads with non OEM? I currently run OCP ink in a Canon pro9000 MK2. No problems, great results. After 2 years had to do a nozzle cleaning cycle as a couple of colors skipped a bit. One nozzle clean and all has been 100% for 3 months.
2-3 months ago I purchased and installed all 12 tanks and ink from InkJetCarts.
Having printed 80-100 sq ft, all is working 100%. Not sure if I have actually printed with inkjet carts yet. I did not purge the system ,aka moving the printer.
Ross at inkjetcarts was extremely helpful with personal instructions on moving the chips from my OEM tanks into the replacements. He did stress I need to print more often that once per month and to religiously remove and agitate the ink tanks once per week 24 hours prior to printing. Takes 3-5 minutes, no big deal.
So far I've printed 80-100 sq ft. All is working 100%. Did a ColorMunki profile for 2 papers I use. So far nothing appears to have changed.
Probably still a fair amount of OEM ink in the lines.
I'll post again in the future after another 100-200 sq feet of printing. I will also continue with the new profiles.
If anybody else has longer term results, I'd love to see a few comments.
