Ok a search shows that it is a voltage issue or an over heated printhead has anyone had any success other than a new printhead?

after following the above link, all good suggestions that i will try except for the taping method, also can i take a good print head from a MP560 and use it in the MP620, i believe the printheads are the same, but i was wondering if the printheads get "married to the motherboard on the printer" if that would be an issue

Yes is the answer, it’s perfectly safe to use the print head from another printer but I would be cautious moving it back again because they can retain bugs that may affect the normal running of the origin printer. (Very seldom)

The B200 error indicates an electronic print head defect. A print head that has failed this way might damage the logic board and a logic board that has been damaged by a defective print head might damage another print head, so swapping print heads between printers for troubleshooting is not a good idea IMO.

I don't know the probability of a defective print head damaging the logic board, but I noticed at the druckerchannel.de forum that some consider this risk to be 50%.

It's true. In this way, I burned one printhead QY6-0080, which before print out nicely. The printer was running in user mode. Once removed, I checked the printhead and was electrically shorted (HV lines to anodes). And before that was OK.

I noticed that the printer in service mode greatly reduces the chance of burning another printhead. What's more, no need to put ink to find out the printhead error.

MP560 is almost same specs compared to MP620, but differs in terms of top cover design.
Scanner cover in MP560 is detachable - it can be a benefit while scanning books.

You can check the electrics of printhead from MP620.
You need to check a pair of contacts - the same as in taping method.
The top row of HV contacts is "+" and the bottom row is "-".
Separately for PGBK and CLI.

There can be no lower than 60 k ohms (usually 200-500), best if it conducts only one direction.

For example, damaged printhead (Error B200) with visible burns on CLI nozzles, is only 5 k ohms on CLI HV lines in both directions.

Visual inspection of the nozzles is also good thing.

You find pin-out for the QY6-0059 print head used in iP4200 and other electronics info about the ip4200 in the service manual. Maybe you will find something of interest? ok a new print head from canon is around $45.00 i will now see what a logic board cost as this maybe a project down the road as this model with 220 cartridges will soon be a thing of the past if not already, i really like this printer, this would be a good project, however with this code i can not get into service mode to check anything

just spoke with a service tech about the B200 error code he said usually that means that both the logic board and printhead are bad, canon also said the boards are no longer available oh well ashes to ashes

As I said before, I tried the printhead from my MP620 on the MP550 and the printer worked fine.
I know I took a risk as you replied...
Installing the PH on the MP620 again didn't seems to damage anything and the Printer is working very fine.
