thx for the advice.

did some testing, text pages are fine. i tried printing some pictures to compare with ones previously printed, good news they look the same. so will go with this for a while until it acts up.

need to get another print head - QY6-0061

so far have found the following options:

Tell me about it I only live across the water from them and I cant get a print head from CRC either,
but websnail usually comes to my rescue and get them for me..

I guess they will not ship to Denmark either, should I need a new printhead. But I wonder how the OP in the thread I linked to persuaded them to ship to Malaysia?

Too late for me, websnail already sent me mine and its now installed and working perfectly, thanks Martin.
My beauty is back in action sporting its new printer potty.
Now to put it to work properly..

FYI, i am big on spare printers....(wife thinks i'm a printer hoarder). i do have one new MP830, but just used its print head in my still working MP830 w 45,000 pages printed.

- downstairs: 1 IP4500
- downstairs: 1 MP830 (w/o print head)
- garage attic: 2 MX700s (canon refurbished)
- garage attic: 2 MX860s (new)
- garage attic: 2 MX860s (canon refurbished)
- garage attic: 4 MP980s (canon refurbished)
- garage attic: 4 MX870s (canon refurbished)

difficult to justify buying a new MP830 print head given the backup inventory.

but can never have too many spares, right ? especially with the new carts

FYI, wife does not know about the printers in the attic.......
