it is said that OctoInkjet doesn’t have that yellow ink issue
Whether Yello Gello happened or not, Websnail offers a CLI-8 cartridge in place of the CLI-42 Yellow cartridge make sure the Yello Gello is not a risk at all.

I do not understand why someone would knowingly risk Yello Gello when they are aware of its potential and the ease with which preventative measures can be employed.

one source mentions it took them YEARS before the 'Gello' showed up
You're basing your decision on a single outlier?

Ok, you've got me. I will be totally honest. I am scared of swapping out the chip. But I will flush out the OEM and make sure it is pristine white before I commence.

Fine. I shall attempt to switch out chips from CLI-42 to CLI-8. I watched a few video tutorials, will practice on the CLI-8 first and see if I am able to do it right.
Should I use a teeny bit of glue and if so, what glue, PVA?
Thanks for the support, guys!

Chip swapping is extremely easy to do, but if your hands are not the best then practice on another chip and cartridge first, and videos are not reality that helpful at all.

Trust me and just try it yourself...;)
