Lexmark + printer: used to be swear words for me in the past
I would *never* consider getting one anymore after painful costly experiences in the past decade

Lexmark Pinnacle Pro 901 Wireless All-in-One Printer: on eBay for 99
Cheapest printing from black in: 500 pages for 4.50
Wifi!
ADF - scan 35 documents at the touch of a button
5 year warranty

Sounds pretty good to me
I desperately need an ADF scanner - I don't fancy spending 300 buying a professional document scanner

I've only JUST bought a new printer and don't need a new one!
But do need an ADF scanner - my MP830 died :(

The Lexmark doesn't do duplex scanning like my MP830 - but not the end of the world - something I could live with

What do you guys think?

EDIT: I'd also add that I'm not bothered about super quality prints coming out
As long as it's fast - which on paper seems to be - or at least fast enough for me
The reviews I've seen seem to suggest that it does have good quality printing

Thanks

If I were you Id try my dampest to get the old mp830 working again.
It has serviced you well in the time youve had it and yes it might cost you a little more than a new printer would.
But a Lexmark theres no comparison, that one is much cheaper to buy but have you checked out the running costs of inks for it.
I once had a Lexmark and nearly every time I turned it on I had to do a clean cycle just to print one sheet, for me it was a real time waster.. :(

well... they say u get a 5 year warranty+ it's the cheapest black ink printer in the world!

clean cycle?? hmmm that sucks
i get that with a recent canon purchase (mp640)
it loves crunching and sucking away - i assume this must be a clean cycle?

If you're not into refilling and not bothered about top class printing then go for it.

All replacement cartridges are expensive to buy, including Canon

5yr warranty is exceptional.

I wouldn't touch anything other than Canon myself but then I do all my own refilling.

hmmm.. to be honest, I've no desire to go near a lexmark (too many bad experiences in the past) - i'll maybe research into refilling up the cartridges for that model before considering buying

i am into refilling! thanks to this website - i think I've learned everything i need to know

the ONLY thing i really need is an ADF scanner - which aren't cheap seperately

There's a difference between brave and foolhardy. Personally I'd stay away from lexmark.
