It is very solid paper, but the surface is not as smooth as Platinum Pro.
After some polishing of the red (I.S.) gloss difference is acceptable.
(first image is a photo, second a scan)

PS: it is not as rough as the scan suggest
gamut is good
first profile is Canon Platinum Pro, second Aldi (IS pigment ink on PRO9500 II)

added profile Aldi on MG8250 + Prodinks, not a bad gamut IMO for a 6 cartridge printer

I reckon they are both great and can’t decide which is better.:hide
I hope to test the Netbit paper with the Aldi paper as soon as it’s in stock here.. :)

Next Saturday 18/07 again.
Together with a not so interesting printer.

PS: scanned with my (low cost) Mustek Scanexpress A3 USB 2400 Pro

Both the Aldi/Sihl and Netbit papers have a good and comparable gamut, the Netbit appears to have a more neutral white than the Sihl paper, it just may be a difference in the amount of optical brighteners in the coating, The Netbit papers takes more ink (dye) , when printing on older Epsons with RPM driver settings as the highest quality step, the Netbit takes the inks, the Aldi starts building ink puddles with darker mixed colors. But anyway the RPM setting does not yield an increase in the gamut compared to the high quality setting. But overall both papers are a very good deal for a quality paper with PE coating.

I find the Aldi glossy very acceptable for pigment inks (after drying at least 24h), especially for the price.
Will buy more, also 10x15 (although 2x more expensive than A4, but cutting A4's to A6 is a lot of work, and most 10x15 frames - in fact 4x6 inch - do not accept A6).

PS: found PGI-R(ed) from Prodinks having better (less) gloss difference.
