fotofreek: You are right about letting the tank go empty. I should know better.
manuchau: I am not using a syringe but I have been doing exactly as you suggested. When filling, the bubbles will eventually start pushing out of the ink fill hole. It is messy but does eliminate much of the bubbles. Good tip.
hendo: when I first started refilling I remember post after post warning about injecting the ink too fast and causing air bubbles which will cause the cart not to work properly. Just as you stated, it is not a problem. I just completed 5,000 ads with my ip3000. Both sides full color in draft (high speed) mode. So that is 10,000 prints with the same set of carts. No problems with the air bubbles. I have been able to get 350 prints per refill. So that works out to approximately 29 refills.
