Four flashing lights issue on Pro 100

Not about to spend $116 on a set of Canon cartridges to test that theory. I've never had issues with knockoff cartridges in other printers. As to the purge suggestion, I honestly have no idea what you mean.

Four flashing lights issue on Pro 100

I've not used the printer for five years, decided to fire it up again. I installed a set of generic cartridges, and I get four flashing orange lights. Canon says in different ways, it's about ink cartridge readings, Nothing enlightening. https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/s/article/ART152997...

    Free CLI-8 inks, carts, resetters

I was going to dump and discard all this, used for many years on a long line of iP printers. The pigment (K) ink is at least 3/4 full. What you see is what you get. About 17 cartridges in all stages of use and abuse. Hmmm... it looks like the photo is a bit cropped and that damned auto...

How many of us are still refilling ink cartridges?

Thank the printer goddess for the Megatank printers. My G6020 AIO is fine for 98% of my print needs. Yeah, the inks aren't Chromalife 100+, but how many non artsy prints do we need to have a long life? And the inks cost less than a single CL cartridge with five times as much ink! If that...

    G2260 Inkpad Issue

I bought this unit three or so years ago. After only using 25% of the inks, it stopped working, saying the waste ink pad was full! So I bought a new one on Amazon for $10. No improvement. Any ideas? I replaced it with a G6020 all in one. No problems yet with 50% of the inks used...

    Anyone using the PRO-310?

Like photography in general, I'm manic depressive. Don't do anything for years, then jump into the deep end. I've not done "art" or large format printing for years. Now, I'm wanting back in. I've used Canon printers for decades. All dye based. Last large format, PRO-10. I've avoided...

    Canon G Series Inks v. Chromalife 100

It appears that that's a European only model, an additional gray and "red." All dye inks. Do you know if the GI53 would be drop in for other G printers? After all, there are five ink types here just in the US. Not a mention that I could find about being Chromalife or anything hinting at...

    Canon G Series Inks v. Chromalife 100

Wow, thanks for that, Printer Oracle! Yes, often marketing does its own thing vs. technical issues.

    Canon G Series Inks v. Chromalife 100

I'm sure this has been asked or commented on before, but I sure can't find anything with the Search function. Nada, zero, zip. This is more of a curiosity question than thinking I'm going to sell archival prints or something. Or worrying about prints in the house light. For the cost per ml...

    Maxi Tank Observation

Setting aside so many other criteria, pluses and minuses about this Canon series....AND I would presume Epson's Eco Tanks....it's wonderful to print and print and print w/o dreading the next round of refilling cartridges.

How to store a print head?

I I see this popped up again. I"m not going to go through all six pages, but permit me to point out that polyethylene is vapor permeable. Your head will dry out in a Ziplock bag. As is, FYI, polypropylene. Take a bottle of water, thin walled, and in a year it will be collapsing as osmotic...

Is there any Mega Tank Dye Black?

I more than appreciate all of the answers to my many questions in the last few weeks as I transition to a G2060 for hum drum daily use, including my questions about available Mega Tank CYM colors that I can use in my PRO-100. I realize that the latter has photo versions of some colors...

    Canon Service Tools, Repair Manuals

I'm pretty ignorant about the SW service tools. What would I be looking for for iP4500, Pro 100, and G2060? I have the service manual for the i4300. Links, sources for the other two printers? Many thanks!

How Long Maximum Could You Submerge the Heads in the Cleaning Solution?

The alternative perspective is that if one can't buy a new head, what's to lose?

How Long Maximum Could You Submerge the Heads in the Cleaning Solution?

Major props to you for going where no printer geek has gone before, to the best of my knowledge! I have two dead printer heads for my beloved iP4500's. I'm trying to resurrect them. Just put into a solution for an overnight soak, but if that doesn't work, I'll follow your advice.

    iP4300 vs. iP4500

My several old factory heads are of the 0075 type. Molded into the plastic. I wonder why Canon would have two heads for the same printer and function. I'm aware that often the heads for, say, Japan, are different from North America.

    Canon G2060 vs. G2260

Wow, you are quite the detective! I double checked that this USA Canon, it is. The ink is GI21. Many thanks.
