    Maxify is the Pitts..

Hi All, Just wanted to say, my Maxify is resurected from the dead! Some moisture damage was found on the "Bind" board.Cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. (Remember I found the printer 4 years ago, dumped outside - rain....) Connected cables again - > Works! You can disconnect every cable you...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi ,@The Hat Thx for your reply. Indeed, that's exactly what was happening. A bit of searching through the forums got me the answer. (I wonder, one should not use a power strip to turn the Maxify off at night in order to conserve battery life - since it's such a pain for an end user - bricks...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Just a note to myself. I probably disconnected the flat cable that connected the RTC board to the main board. I'll try the recovery tool, to correct my error. Do not unplug the connector labeled BIND on M/B in Maxify w/o pluggin unit in. Steven.

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi Palombian, It seems like. (no visible locking problems to see however) Opened the side of the printer. Disconnected the connectors on the top one by one. Printer would boot, with different error codes depending on what whas diconnected. Found 3 cables to the scanner / enconder had slight...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi all, Today, after two years of perfect service I had my first breakdown of my Maxify MB5050. Original Carts refilled with arc chip on them, following Palombian's instructions. However I don't think it's the cartridges fault? If it were a Pc I would describe it as: "Windows is stuck in a...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi stratman,, Inktec has (had?) no Canon pigmented inks for the Maxify. They were cheaper too.

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi All, I'm still here. Just a small update on my MB5050 Over the last year I refilled the oem carts with arc chips, when the printer declared them empty. I use Palombian's weight(s) for the empty and full cartridge. My observations are the same: Only when one of the colors starts getting...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi Palombian, So, it might be a good idea to try the Chinese refillables again? And just refill them when the chip declares empty. I remember you had some leak issues with them in the past? Did you also have leaks/contamination when filling them when the ARC chip declared them empty...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi, It might be mentioned before. I have found that you can switch that message off: From Front Panel, swipe to settings, advanced, casette settings -> detection Greetings

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi All! Just to inform, all three colors are now refilled. I think I will put a piece of painter's tape over the carts ink outlet port next time. Because even when you are fast, a drop of ink can drip out when inserting the cart into the printer. Greetings,

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

@palombian: I managed to suck the ink out of the refillable cart. In the meantime: no leaks or cross contamination anymore since the oem cart was refilled. The Cyan Inktec pigment ink seems to be fine in my printer. Will try to report the other colors when I refill the other carts. But so...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi Palombian, Thanks for the reply! Yeah I kinda wondered why the Cyan contaminated the magenta. But it seems logical: Cyan (Ali) was full and magenta, yellow were/are still OEM, and on the lowish side. Maybe it could work if I installed all Aliexpress carts at once. But given your experience...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi, Quick reply. After two days the maganta cart got contaminated with cyan. Seeing the trouble you had with the refillables (@palombian). I decided to drop the Cyan Aliexpress refillable from the printer. (Post...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Today my Maxify is partly on refill ink :) Today the Cyan cart ran out. (error Bxxx - Red cross) Maybe I should not use the Chinese Carts? (after reading your last post) But since I have them anyway I have filled the cytan with 40ml Then installed the cart. The printer did it's purge :) What I...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

I am now at ~ 8800 pages. The MB5050 has worked fine since the empy BK cart has been replaced. Next to be replaced are the color carts. They now on the lowish side in the Ink monitor. When the printer declares them empty I will fill and install the Chinese refillables. My stat at 2 july 2018...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi, @palombian: Thanks for checking the weight. Indeed that confirms it would be pretty empty. Now that I think about it - from a user perspective - it might be a good thing that the Chinese refillabels hold more ink. Nor for the extra ink per sé, but at least one does not run in into an empty...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

After the error 5200, I pulled the BK cart. Weight: 69 gr. See picture. I think this cart has very little weight...? I installed a new BK cart and the Error 5200 dissapeared. After installing it did it's cleaning cycle. The Maxify is happy again :). If this conclusion is right: even with an...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi Palombian. Thank you for the good ideas! Too bad they did not include a Prism like into the BCI3 / BCI6 carts Anyway, today I switched on the Maxify and printed a nozzle check. (I had not print anything since my last post and this reply - I only print Nozzle checks and nothing alse with a...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

Hi, Yesterday I ran into a problem with my Maxify. Wile printing, the black color started to stop printing. After a few pages I noticed something was wrong and I stopped the print job. I had a page with lots of color, but no black at all... All black nozzles did not print. I ran a cleaning...

My MAXIFY 5350 is on refill ink

A very clever trick! (changing the chips) :) Will see how it goes. I can change the chips if the printer rejects a mix of arc chips and original Canon chips
