Where can I find a service tool which is not removed by virus scanner?
I need at tool for IP7250 and Ts9150
Have found my 'old' supplier at his a-mail and got at service tool version 6000.
Working and not stopped by virus scanner.
I've learned that the problem occurs on more PC's
Problem, I believe, is related to 8-bit (XP) printerdriver. With 16-bit (XPS) driver I have not yet seen the problem.
Any ideas?
(Problem has nothing to do with cartridge!)
I'm looking for experiences with a code 1412 (cartridge not recognised) on a Ts9150 using only OEM cartridges.

Allow me to come with a suggestion:
Don't wate your money on a resetter. Buy a set of resetable cartridges instead.
I've tried resetables in a IP7250, but find the work beeing too much and have had difficulties in finding a good set of refill ink. Especially the yellow were/is a problem.
I have not tried this, but it may give som ideas.

I like your idea of a tray (lifting the printer a little).
I would, though, be more comfortable to known where the leak can be drained by drilling af small hole in the casing.

which error number is shown on the printer?
The service tool will only work on one (1) error.
If you have like low ink, bad head or others no work.
I would think there is some wrong with printer apart from the error 1700.
Will the printer startup proberly just showing the error 1700?
A maybe tricky question: are you connecting by USB?

Please make a capture of the first screen after you put the printer in service mode and have startet the service tool.
I want to see the total service tool picture. (especially the upper left corner).
Have succeded in resetting the counter, but haven't found the ink absorber pad yet.
At 8880 sheets of A4 color printouts the counter was reset.
Now I'm waiting for the wasteink to leave the printer case.
Being a newbie myself I've had simmilar problems.
When service tool said 'error 002' at my place the reason was other errors on the printer (ts9150).
I had error 1600 and error 1003 on top of error 1700. Errors 1003 and 1600 had to be corrected before error 002 disapeared.

My experience is limited to changing absorber in Ip7250.
Agree - it's a gamble.
Lets say IMO:
2 heads to get one with minor lines i a color is roughly $400 in EU.
This price is egual to 14 cartridges CLI-581XXl (exclusive a new printer for CD).
If I need the CD printing I would still try to keep the IP4500 alive.
Currently I'm trying to keep two...
I agree - use only parts from dealers!
But if the only option is a new printer I would try to by a printhead anyway (I'll even try twice).
(May main concern is the price of ink for new printers, which fast will be higher than two tries.)
