Dell Ultrasharp Color Calibration Solution
This is the monitor I use http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=19&sku=225-4148
@stratman hey I'm not looking for a screen calibrator. The Dell UH2713H has hardware calibration support but is only compatible with the i1Pro Display, which is what I got. I need it cause' I am running 2 screens. The secondary screen gets calibrated first and then I hardware recalibrate the...
noted on your advise! But could I make a request for a profile? I have a box (box of boxes) Canson Infinity Gloss 270 - http://www.canson-infinity.com/en/gloss270.asp
Would really appreciate it if there's a profile for that. Or would you recommend that I download their profile and just use that?
:weee:weee:weee:weee:weee
You are a saviour! For the 2 years I've had this printer, I have never had a print as close to the screen as this! May I ask what profiler are you using or would recommend? I have some exotic papers I'd love to be able to calibrate myself!
Excited about this printer...
@The Hat
I have been printing on glossy paper, the colors are off.
I used the Canon SG201 semi-gloss paper with stock profile and it was yellowish green. When I profiled it with Datacolor Spyder print it was better but the Blue/Magenta seems out of gamut. They're overly saturated with no...
@The Hat oh goodness :\ I think it could be because I have been printing mostly glossy for some time now. Curious thing was I just printed 2 monochromes on water colour paper and they look fine...
@mikling thanks for the advice! Does it mean I uninstall all the carts and the print head. soak...
@mikling are you the guy behind Precision Color? I was hoping to buy inks of the site but there isnt a shipping option to Singapore. The Ebay is gone too. Any way to ship over here?
Hi all!
Sorry for the trouble, I was being paranoid. The ink just didnt have time to dry, I guess I should let it dry on the printer for an hour before touching them (:
I just checked the price for OEM in local stores. 250SGD for a set of 10 inks  approx 200USD. Holy shit. I think I'll...
Hi The Hat Thanks for your reply (:
I shall check it out. Maybe its just that the ink hasn't dried yet (I hope!) I think I'd change to OEM for now, a large quantity print job coming.
Probably time to refresh my carts anyway, they're the carts that came with the printer.
I was hoping to change...
Hi all, sorry I haven't been around the forum for a long time! Basically I refill my Canon Pro 9500 Mk 2 with Precision Color inks. They've been very good so far, but I might have let a bottle sit for too long ~ about 1 year.
6 months ago I refilled the ink tanks, did quite a number of prints...
holy, that Epson is so hardcore. I think that's probably similar to what all the old fashioned pirates used. hahaha thanks guys. I learned more than I expected.
I guess its time to find a cheap epson that'll take CD's. Canon label their printers in Asia differently from USA. So I can't get good...
Hey I recently tried to print on printable DVDs with my Canon 9500 mk2 but the image flakes off with light abrasion... it was fine with the cheaper AIO dye inkjet.
Anyone face this problem and have any solutions? e.g. coating after printing/specific DVD brands?
I'm still on oem ink since...
its 4.45am local time here... preliminary results not too good with the gelatin + pigment ink combo. The paper shows more area without ink (white spotting) than without the coating. I can only hope for good news with the dye ink.
I'll update again tomorrow when I can get some photos to show you...
I think it "might" be the swellable kind... you just won't know till you've tried. It's great that you're testing with a dye ink printer and I'm doing it with pigment. At least after this we should know for sure... except I think I'd need a re-run because I should've used a much stiffer gelatin...
All Hail The Hat! Wahoo! Say hello to cheap high quality papers of all varieties! I'll try that soon, probably buy some GO from I.S. . I'm hoping the gelatin project will produce something interesting too. I think this run might be screwed because I used fish gelatin. I'm supposed to use 250...
just coated a few sheets of 400gsm cold pressed water color paper, will update once its dry and printed. Did an overcoat on a print also as it was suggested on another forum.
Used: 2% by weight cooking gelatin (fish). Coated paper on both sides to reduce curling. Paper was coated with a brush...
