My experience is with Canon printers. Initially warm water may do the trick. If it doesn't, I've usually been successful with the original windex (window cleaner). It is the one with ammonia and it is not the no-drip or other forms of windex.
I'm not sure where to start with my comments! First of all, I don't take PS as a drug - it is just a tool. I've never genuflected to anything or anyone. I just use what works for me. As to cost, PSE is $70 or less online. Although I do see free downloads to ADOBE Lightroom the purchase price...
Marliese - Are you printing directly to fabric? Which printer and material do you use? I've used an iron-on transfer sheet with good results, but yours look great!
The companies from whom I've purchased refill ink over the last 15 years suggest a two year shelf life. I've not tested the possibility of keeping it for five years, and I order quantities that I will use up in about that time. Larger quantities would be cheaper per ounce, but refilling is so...
3Dogs - I didn't mean to imply that I'm a PS expert! I've learned enough to do what I want in the program, and when the occasion arises I have a more advanced book to consult - just as you describe. You are right that learning a new "trick" in PS can be a daunting task. Because the program...
If I recall correctly, I broke the ice with learning PSE by buying the "Dummy's" book! It gave a step-by-step instruction to basic workflow with any photo. There was enough instruction in that book to get me started and avoid the confusion of looking at the opening screen and scratching my...
Paul - I agree with you regarding their organizing system. In some respects it makes sense to "tag" pix with names, etc, for retrieval but it seems more cumbersome than necessary. I never even go to the organizing screen. Having started with PSE v.2 that didn't have the organizer function I...
I just received an email ad from Red River Paper that listed several surfaces that are coated double sided - all the way from matte to glossy. Once you click the link to purchase they show several cut sizes of all these papers. For a short run of postcards I'd use 4x6 precut paper with no trimming.
I have no problem with your using what works for your specific purpose. Whatever works! I'm curious to know why you are averse to using an Adobe product? Because I was not aware of the antipathy some have for Photoshop or Photoshop Elements I bought PSE and have thoroughly enjoyed using it...
a different problem --- sometimes when I try to post a response my text can only be upper or lower case and not mixed upper and lower case. When that happens I leave the forum site, re-enter the site, and then am able to do both upper and lower case typing. I don't recall if I actually close...
Photoshop or Photoshop Elements will do everything you've described. 1) select paper size 2) select picture size and placement on the paper 3) place text anywhere on the page you wish and with a choice of text size, style, and font, and 4) apply borders. Depending on your printer you can do...
In the US Red River makes a very nice heavy weight double sided matte paper. The one I've used for very attractive invitations is aurora art natural. For two sided printing with excellent quality photo reproduction this is quite a nice paper. It appears that you are in Europe so I'd check out...
bottom line is that GSM value - weight - doesn't describe characteristics that contribute to the ability for a printer to feed card stock for printing. You still need to take a sample of your desired card stock to the store and try it in the demo printers that otherwise meet your needs.
Each country probably has specific permitted measurements for mailed items. I know that in the US you must add an additional stamp for certain sizes or shapes of envelopes (i.e. square envelopes). If 6x4 postcards would be permitted in countries where you expect them to be sent, I would use...
Snail Mail postcards may also be subjected to wet conditions. Dye based inks are water soluble, so I would suggest using only a pigment-based ink printer.
Yes, the best of all worlds - to witness AND participate! Transformational times.
I was at UC Berkeley and then UCSF in San Francisco through most of the 50's and was able to see the beat generation first hand, hanging out in North Beach much of my free time. Quite an awakening preceding the...
