Just get a swatch of fine art cotton fiber canvas, photograph a clean section of the carpet, print it on the swatch and mount it over the offending area!!! No bleaching, scrubbing or explosions (unless from wife)-and probably not much 'photoshopping' required. Don't sweat it.
I have been using OCP dye inks in my 99xx for the past 5+ yrs. It's performance has been outstanding for my needs. I do not print pro wise, just for my self and club exhibits. With the i9900 and with my new Pro 9000 MKII, I setup a baseline with OEM inks using various mfgrs print profiles and my...

Well, if he was, he was! Darn lucky he chose a matching color to spill. But when he finishes this vigorous cleanup his problem(s) start--The newly refreshed portion of the carpet will 'jump out' at...
What do you mean by: Epson wont help? You have indicated that OEM inks and carts are being used-should make Epson happy. What did they say in their refusal? I just purchased a 3880 and certainly don't look forward to similar entertainment.
Thanks, irv weiner

Rob, check page 2 of this post--I went back to the very distant past, for me, and pulled out the car battery 'sights' of yesteryear. I've seen no further comment, but as these 'black carts' fill the scene and become pervasive I hope some members of this community try the 'sight rod' and report...
George, as mentioned in my post above, if you lightly lubricate the needle shaft and insert the scabbard, thus lubing the scabbard your problem disappears.
As mentioned earlier in this post, I followed thru and added a check valve between the squeeze bottle and the needle. I do top refills...
Go to Home Depot and buy some heat-shrink tubing about 1/8 dia., cut about 1/2 in. longer than your needle and apply heat with a hair drier or candle. Dont shrink too tight, lightly wipe the needle with oil, grease or Vaseline and slide the tubing up&down for lubing. You now have an ink needle...

There can be 2 other causes:
1: Electrical contacts on the printhead is dirty, especially those for the defective color channel.
2: The electronic drive circuit for the cyan channel and/or the printhead is defective.
