Okay so I finally managed to get the printer working over wifi...after speaking to Canon Tech Support in Netherlands. To be honest, I don't think that even they knew what the problem was. In the end I had to 'Custom Install' the MP drivers again after doing the 'Easy Install'. So it's working...
