As will go from the attached Nozzle Check, that although I printed a number of photos recently and thereafter the test print too, as recommended by "The Hat", I have another clogg, this time in the magenta region.
I checked the photo's but there can not be seen any effect of this magenta clogg...
The nozzle print I made (see above thread) shows "Maintenance cartridge: 99%". On the LCD it shows full black.
However this cart is almost empty!
I have two new Maintenance carts T5820/ICMT1, so far never used.
When I insert these, the same info appears: "full black" on LCD and "99%" info on...

Since I most likely can not use the Qimage unclog program, which you recommended because it might not be avalaible for iMac, I took a piece of kitchen towel which I folded into a small strip. I moved the print head in the middle of the 3800 and did slowly move the print hard over the...
Hi 'The Hat'
Do I understand correctly that the Test Print, posted by Roy Fletcher I should use on a regular basis, say once every two week, to just print it and then see whether the print is showing no problems?
I learned from the extensive information regarding using OEM carts that are modified (method jtoolman) into two way valves, that after filling these carts to approx. 150g total weight and after resetting all chips to full, that in the course of printing gradually the decreasing ink level will...
The Hat: thank you for directing me to Qimage unclog video.
It seems a nice additional way of fighting clogs.
How can I get this program?
In my PC years I used Qimage printing software, but since (as far as I know) there is no Qimage software for iMac, I no longer do.
In addition I feel that the...
I believe that it was "The Hat" who wrote that to avoid cloggings in the 3800 it suffices to print once a week a color photo.
That's what I am doing most of the time and indeed there are no cloggs!
Now and then I also make a non automatic nozzle check and what I then get is a very vague print of...
The best device I have found for refilling Epson OEM carts is the German made "Octopus Qu-Fill Profi", in messing with two openings guaranteeing an easy filling of Epson carts.

Joe, thank you for you new methode to simplyfying the modification of the one-way valve.
* Can you please convert for me the "fifty thousands diameter" in to metric?
* I also would like to know what the length is of the needle from the bend down to the blunt point.
I have two complete sets of...
I read somewhere that it is necessary to take out, on a regular basis, each cartridge of the 3800 and shake it carefully.
I feel that it is best not to take out the cartridges too often and therefore I would like to have your advise how often the cartridges have to be shaked?
Is any information available regarding the effectiveness and composition of products like Magic Bullet, Piezo Flush etc.?
Is my impression correct that a mixture of 1/3 iso propanol, 1/3 ammonia and 1/3 distilled water is as effective as the above rather expensive flushing and cleaning products?
I purchased two resetters for resetting the chips on the carts of the 3800 Pro. Only didn't function at all and the other one could not reset LK, LLK and LM.
Finally I followed the advise from Joe Rodriguez (jtoolman) to buy from a company in Florida on Ebay...
The Hat:
It would be nice to read about printing quality differences when using "Let Printer" or "LR manage colors".
Years ago it would be out of the question to use "let printer manage", but that has changed. Yes, I can just start testing myself but why would I if somebody else, more...
3Dogs: thank for your advise.
But this is not an answer to my question.
Manage by printer, some time ago almost out of the question, is no longer a bad option per se.
Because of this I ask my above question.
