Smudger, I thought ink had a shelf life, am I wrong, maybe I've seen it on HP tanks?
What if St. Peter or Mr Devil want borrow a fiver, don't wanna get on bad terms do I?
CakeHole is right, they do the CLI-551 tanks but not the gray.
I only searched and inquired for iP8750, I should have searched the tanks number CLI-551.... my bad, why didn't I look properly???
As for the installation I only installed the drivers I had the other utilities from the iP4950...
Hi CakeHole,
I can only tell you what Peach in Switzerland told me, I looked there and couldn't see any Peach tanks at all for the iP8750 except Canon's OEM, that they went on to say they didn't do any Peach compatible for that model.
The reason they give was because of a Canon update, I can...
Just had reply from Peach Switzerland, saying they do not do inks for the Canon iP8750, due to a Canon update. I can only guess this would be firmware, I can only think this causes the printer to print two pages and then 'cartridge not recognized' error.
So we'll have to see how it goes with...
Even more baffled now...!
I got mine from Cartridge People in Jersey, I don't know if it's the same as Cartridge Shop they also have a shop there, they are new and not re-manufactured as I've seen on some ink tanks
When reading 'About' the dispatch address Switzerland although it had a Channel...
Strange???
I searched for Peach cartridges, I got Peach cartridges and was directed to a shop, they supplied Picture Expert Premium ink tanks in black plastic casing.
"Oh well, I'll give em' a try."
Dave
I personally don't like the idea -:
2. When the ink volume is less than 15%, you must reset the chips by resetter, or will cause error in the cartridge.
I think it would be better to use pre-filled ones so there can be no chances of 'popping' the nozzle's should you forget to manually check...
How about a compressor with the paper towel as a filter and collector for emptying... just an idea I had, an hoover hose if you could adapt it to the tanks outlet..... come on, gi mi 1 out of 10 for trying.
I wouldn't be tempted to drying them too quick with too much heat, we don't want deform...
@PeterBJ
Never seen tanks in our Lidl, must pay closer attention next time I go.... I would tend to agree they would probably be Peach or a German brand.
My printer workload is only light and that's spasmodic, think I'll be quite contempt to stick to ink tanks, my main concern was finding a...
I would tend to agree with The Hat, from what I was reading I'd be tempted to steer clear of these because 'it seems' that you need to watch the ink levels physically like an hawk as the levels indicated on the 'inkometer' does not always correspond to the actual ink tank level.... and if those...
Emmm, thank you The Hat, ya getting me interested, at least this way you do have the choice on the quality of the ink used or I ink to suit your needs, I can see through that tunnel.
I've done a bit of reading up and down these boards, many a interesting thread I may add. I've seen refillable...
I guess a lot too depends on the photo paper, the acidity and so on. I'm not looking for exact perfection, reliability is though.
I think I'd be right in saying those who refill has more control and far better options than those buying tanks. There must be many people here uses ink tanks...
Ah, sorry I should have said, Canon ip8750.
Thanks for the link, not read it yet I'll dig it from the book marks after. As long as the colours are reasonable and the reliability is OK that will do for me, I don't want to go down the route of longevity otherwise I'd be sticking with canon I...
Got the ip8750, straight out the box the pictures are better than the ip4950 by far and that's on it's standard setting, not tried the high quality print setting nor other settings yet.
Not gonna put the ip4950 under the lump hammer just yet, might have a bash and get a print head..... as well...
@Hat.
I do have a Samysung (Samsung) mono laser, hey I did start off with a Epson C62 then onto a ip5000 are they counted?
Now that C62 was a real clogger... at the time there was a Epson service agent in ourt town, I took it to him he picked it up and clodded it across the room into the waste...
Yes, yes I should have known Smudger about 'My Image Garden', mi' brain cells are not rattling like they used to do, laughing out loud I do use 'Easy Photo Print 'I should have known.
I suppose the Photo paper feed could make a good argument, not that I'm seeking such, kinda' a faddy I have...
@The Hat
I read a couple of post somewhere where replacing the heads didn't solve the problem, also read somewhere when you change the head Canon changes the logic board as well, the guy posted the bill, It was a 'winded' post I made though.
Geesh I'm having 2nd thoughts if I should cancel, My...
