I don't think it's awesome, printing results in a physical, material output and therefore makes sense only when in relative proximity to the user. Set your LAN well and you won't need the Internet. Printing over the Internet presents security challenges and HP is known to have issues there.

websnail, your observations will be valuable to anyone buying an HP inkjet printer.
I made the mistake of getting a printer with this type of cartridges 12 years ago (HP2000C using the No10 ink tanks)
And then again a couple years ago (HP whatever, using the No88 ink tanks)
Both printers cost...
It's not hard to write a driver to support each printer's specific features. The Ricoh copier/printer in my workplace can be accessorized with various features and the driver supports those optional components.
Not all HP printers use PCL.
To my knowledge no and I have been looking for this as well.
HP's universal driver is based on the fact that HP laser (and business inkjets) are using HP's PCL language and therefore it is easy to write a driver to talk to any PCL printer out there.
Smart move from HP back to the 80s.
I understand you live in Greece.
My current dye inks have been imported from China and it was a risky process as the customs had threatened to force me to pass them through an expensive National Chemistry check. I can't recommend this to anyone living in Greece.
However I am very satisfied...
Parhs, I believe there is a possibility of ink being the problem. Inks I was using 2 years ago where exhibiting this problem, perfect nozzle checks and good photos, but ink starvation issues in large areas of color especially on plain paper modes.
You could try refilling with a sample of Cyan...
I did a too hasty search before hitting reply on my first posting. I thought your cartridge was a sans-printhead ink tank (which HP had copied from Canon a few years ago). Purging ink tanks is easy because you run water through the exit port and it cleans the sponge very well as it flows outside...
Oh, I am sorry. I doubt that you can remove all the ink from this cartridge without professional equipment but if you soak a paper towel with a little water and then let the cartridge sit on it with the nozzles in contact with the paper then most of the remaining ink will be removed.
Purge it with running water on the exit port.
Then let it sit for a few hours to days (depending on your environment). Placing a paper towel on the exit port in contact with the sponge will accelerate the drying time.
Did you use your printer's function to clean and/or deep clean the black cartridge ?
Are you certain your black ink is compatible to this particular cartridge type ?
Next time you upload images make sure you trimmed them, decrease resolution and increase compression somewhat and use image...
IrDA is very slow. It would be OK for ASCII (telex) printing but anything else would take too much time as it would require to be transferred on a 28kbps connection.
I doubt you can find any printer with IrDA anymore.
If you don't want wireless signals in your house, consider the solution of...
I think this may be an issue in another forum. I had been lurking there for some time and I do recall a report about a company making claims of ultra-fine (to the point of being transparent I think) pigments while some forum members rejected these claims.
