Not sure about the Pro 9000 MK2 and the 9500 MK2 but you have to enter Service Mode on older Canon printers for a eeprom print out.

The way I understand it.
The logic board knows how many times the purge unit pumps ink into the ink absorber pads in the bottom of the printer.
The logic board estimates how much ink has been pumped and displays it as the D value in the eeprom print out.

One little question I did not see and I've been looking.. where do you find the needles to do the refill?
I use 2- inch long 20 gauge blunt needles from Precision Colors.
I use a long hat pen to make a tunnel through the sponge and the blunt needle goes right through into the ink chamber...
If it were my printer I would take it outside turn it upside down and shake the crap out of it.

PeterBJ and Lin thanks for the help but I do not think that will help me because I am on slow dial-up and I have trouble downloading drivers to my computer.
My only option us to find installation CDs or copies for sale in the US. I will keep checking ebay every day and might get lucky.
Thanks Stratman I still need a installation CD for a iP4500 and a MP500.
The trouble is I can only deal with people who live in the lower 48 States in the US.
The CDs are for elderly folks that have so much crud on their computer that the computer will not let me download the drivers from...
