Joe don’t get rid of that 8500.
In 15 years I have only seen one 8500 in a thrift store and I bought it.
If nothing happens this winter I plan to sell all of my Canon printers except for one 3000.
This is the first aftermarket Canon cart I have seen that does not have the hold down tabs on the front of the cart. The felt disk in the cart has no pressure holding it down on the intake screen.
The surprise is that the label says Staples Office Supply which is supposed to sell decent stiff...
I put some warm water in a pan or bucket and put just one drop of Dawn dishwashing liquid in the water.
Then I take an old t-shirt and clean the rubber rollers one at a time with the printer unplugged.
If the rollers don’t come clean that way use windex on the t-shirt.
Are you absolutely sure the power supply is dead?
Canon ink printers have a history of bad logic boards and shorted printheads.
