    PRO-100 CISS

So, if I'm reading correctly the ebay listing, to use this monstrosity, when the printer warns you of low ink level you have to remove the cart from the printer and reset the chip, which you've had to transfer from the Canon carts to the ones furnished with the CISS. And this means removing ALL...

    What Illumination choice??

Think I'll buy the 5000 K lamps for the general lighting here in Command Central where I edit photos, print, surf the net, etc. The overhead fixture has sockets for three bulbs. Then I'll use the D50 ICC option. Thanks to all for the help!

    What Illumination choice??

No, I don't think I'm confused about white balance. I went to RAW almost exclusively shortly after getting my first DSLR, a Pentax K 10, enjoying the extra "latitude" afforded.. No, I'm referring to the three different ICC profiles that PC furnishes for each paper, one for D50, one for...

    POTENTIAL PROBLEM: Carplan de-ionised water

I wonder if in flushing you might do as I do in washing film. I use our tap water for the wash, and then for the final rinse with wetting agent (to prevent water spotting) I use distilled water to avoid any mineral content in our very tasty tap water from depositing on the film. So, flush and...

    What Illumination choice??

I'm approaching my third refill on my Pro 100 using Precision Colors inks, so its about time to try some of PC's profiles. My question is which of the illumination choices, Standard D50, Tungsten, or Florescent would be a reasonable choice for general use? I find the Florescent option...

Canon PRO-100 deal is back, $34 after rebate, free shipping, includes 50 sheets photo paper

My rebate was in the form of a pre-paid American Express card. I called AE and they sent me a check for $300. Just a few minutes of phone time. Do read CAREFULLY the requirements for the rebate! While they weren't difficult to do, you don't want to throw out ANYTHING before you follow the...

Printer Profiles 101 - The basics of using profiles for your printer

Thanks to all for this informative thread! I've refilled the carts on my PRO 100 twice now with Precision Colors inks. Is this enough to enable my making reasonable profiles with ProfilePrism, or should I go another or cycle or two. My Spyder 4 is due to arrive today to replace my Spyder 3...

    Top filling: cartridges leaking!! HELP!

I also use the Precision Colors plugs, the ones with the tab for removal. So far, so good, although I've refilled only twice....

    Inkjet printer recommendations please.

Hmm. I've never run across a scanner/printer combination machine that can print A3 paper. How about a separate scanner and an A3 printer? If the Pixma Pro 100 rebate offer is available in the UK you'd be hard pressed to find a better dye A3 printer at any price, and you'd have saved enough to...

    Inkjet printer recommendations please.

I'll second Tigerman's suggestion, if you can get it at it's current US price of $100 after a $300 rebate in the UK.:)

Canon Pixma Pro 100 sale returns!

Probably most of you know about this but Adorama is again offering the 13 inch dye Pixma Pro 100 for $98.00 after a $300 rebate. This is cheaper than a set of replacement tanks! But wait, there's more! You also get 50 sheets of Canon 13 x 19 Photo Paper Plus Semi-Gloss to try out that bad...

    Pro 100 problems....

I used Profile Prism with my Epson V700 scanner to generate profiles for the Epson R1800 before it quit working. The results were satisfactory, but a bit fiddly, as you note. I could try an interesting experiment, comparing Precision Colors profile to one from Profile Prism for the same paper.

    Pro 100 problems....

Yep, twenty minutes at least, then confusion over what is the question .... and then at least two different answers! Second refill of the carts, think I'll try Profile Prism to do some profiling.....

    Pro 100 problems....

Well, I've just refilled my carts for the second time. But there's a problem. Grey and Photo Magenta are flashing. The on screen display had indicated this, and showed most of the other carts as having less ink than they should. I made 2 prints, very nice. Now the printer says its unable to...

    Dry Mounting????

I've printed a few 13 x 19 images with my Canon PRO - 100. Gorgeous! Time to mount and frame. Back in the day I used a dry mount press for fiber silver-gelatin prints with great success. I discovered a local source for a used Seal press at a very good price. It has a thermostat allowing...

    Important : Canon Pro-100 Cli-42 Yellow Ink

It seems to sort of "snap" in. So far, so good.

    Important : Canon Pro-100 Cli-42 Yellow Ink

My empty yellow cart arrived from Precision Colors and the transfer of the chip went well. I filled the yellow cart and topped of the rest - that printer does like grey ink! and the results look good. I'll run through more ink before I attempt to run profiles with ProfilePrism, although I'll...

    Important : Canon Pro-100 Cli-42 Yellow Ink

Many thanks for clearing up my confusion! I rather dreaded cleaning the print head. And I like the idea of popping for the magenta carts. The OEM carts gave a wonderful match to my calibrated monitor, and ASUS PA248 LCD, and I'd like to get back there. What I have now is pleasant, but not...
