Hi,
In an attempt to try pigment ink on glossy paper, I did this:
Print an picture, using HP Everyday Glossy Photo Paper on HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525. Set to Plain Paper and Black Ink Only so it only uses ink from the black pigment ink cartridge (this printer has pigment K and dye CMY)...
I just found some example images from northlight-images.co.uk site: not sure what's bronzing and what's gloss differential
Bonus a picture of inside the HP 70 ink cartridge: look like easy to refill! Wish HP do that for home inkjet printers as well...
Wow, thanks! I agree that at the same price, Epson seems to have less features compared to others.
Epson refill require the chip to be reset, either by using resetter with OEM ink cart, or by using ARC.
How about Brother? (I've seen some clips on Youtube, no mention about resetter...)
It seems that with laser printers, all paper brands perform just similarly good - dense black and very crisp printout, without any noticeable different. However, with inkjet, I currently only find HP paper and PaperOne is good. In VN, PaperOne can be bought at some limited retail stores...
So if I get an Epson with CISS and have option: all dye, all pigment. What should I choose? I want pigment to print text office documents. I also want dye to print pictures as well!
PS: @Fenrir Enterprises ,I'm not quite understand the "bronze" effect...If we can have images (taken with camera...
Double A, PaperOne, IK Plus, HP/Epson/Canon/those OEM guys (good, of course!), some strange brand names...to name just a few.
Which one, based on your real use experience, is of good quality? (Good quality: inkjet printing, pigmented/dye ink, dense and crisp pigmented-black text, the ones of...
Here is my experience: I got IK Plus and PaperOne, both are A4, 80gsm, indicated inkjet-compatible. Printing a full page text using same black pigmented ink, same "Normal" mode: text is not pure black, a little bit grey, not "vivid" on IK Plus; on PaperOne it's beautiful: dense, vivid and sharp...
You can:
Find the manual of your printer, in German.
Use Google Translate to translate the word "Language", "Region" into German.
Open the manual file, search for the phrases and follow the instruction! (No need to understand, just follow it until you reach a menu where it lists all the...
If you make a small hole like mine, then hot-glue would be enough to seal it. Please have a look back my post. Remember that the hole must be small, just barely enough to insert the needle with a little bit loose to let air get out.
Wow, so Epson is behind Brother even though they are the owner of piezo printhead!
BTW, can Brother be used with CISS? I hear many Epson with CISS, but not yet with Brother since I don't hear much about Brother chip and ARC for it?
Wow! Thanks @The Hat !
By looking at the image, I can see that pigmented ink is happy with glossy paper. It's just a little bit...darker, I think???
Can you have a look at this and this page? Someone stated that pigmented ink doesn't dry correctly on his glossy paper.
Hi,
Can someone scan some examples of printout using pigmented ink on glossy or matte photo paper? I'm curious because some say that pigmented ink isn't happy with glossy photo paper.
Hi @The Hat ,
I've heard that pigmented ink doesn't dry properly on couche paper (art paper). We need a special ink called pigment-UV ink that after print it need UV light to dry. In my country, people use Epson with CISS + pigment-UV ink to print on couche paper.
Is that correct? What's...
Hi everyone,
If I have to print an important document (ex. contract), should I use:
Laser printer, OEM cartridge.
Laser printer, refilled cartridge.
Inkjet printer, OEM cartridge.
Inkjet printer, refilled cartridge?
Assume that refill is done with good ink/toner.
I once has color contamination issue when I was doing manual cleaning of my printhead. A couple of cleaning circles and several prints should eliminate the issue, or else there is something much more serious inside the printhead (the wall between channels may have been broken that ink will leak...
Hi @Mohinesh ,
First of all, there's no universal ink that can be used for both thermal and piezo print head technology. Any ink that claim itself on HP, Canon,....+ Epson and Brother is almost certainly fake! They usually fall into 3 cases: universal ink OR Epson ink OR HP/Canon ink...all with...
As for eBay, don't trust anything for 100% on it! If you can, go buy at Octoinkjet.co.uk, since it's of one of the inkjet printer guru member in this forum.
I'm in Vietnam, and I can't buy from that. Don't ask me for feedback.
