Pretty strange indeed
You should post a scan trying to enhance it via software (photoshop or gimp)or doing an hi-res scan. Without it is difficult to help. The defect should show
The two heads are different but they use the same cartridges
Here I am again...
Finally i managed to get an used print head to do further checks. It comes from a faulty MP800 that is about to arrive home.
The former owner told me that the printer has a "faulty mother board" error and the print head is stuck on the parking area. It doesn't move if you...
No, you don't have, you can use any software, BUT with the bundled software you don't have to fiddle with margins or other settings to "center" the printing on the CD\DVD.
I got a Canon IP4300 and it works without all the issues described by PeterBJ. Mine is less older than his printer and the software works fine under Win7.
Honestly it don't have any a lot of options but printing on CD\DVD is pretty straightforward and results are pretty good.
It is one of the...
Maybe :D
Giving remote assistance is one of the hardest things to do, but sometimes seeing a minor imperfection in nozzle check test triggers panic :ep, even if the prints are fine :hide
Yes, it is really that simple..... depending on how much your head is clogged. It works better with color\dye inks than with the pigments one (PGBK).
A lot of patience is required also.
Please note that a missing colour could be caused also by an irregular ink flow. So better post a nozzle...
Should I purge the PGBK cart before filling it with photo black (dye)?
I read somewhere that mixing dye with pigment ink could produce clogs? Could be this the case?
Thanks to everybody for the support.
Next week I will have a second hand printing head for further testing.
In the meanwhile I will keep reading the forum to find the better way to unclog the stubborn clog in the passageways of the head, as suggested by turbguy. The former soakings has had...
I am aware of the cyan issue, but for the time being it is printing flawlessy when not using PGBK (CD\DVD or pictures).
Buying a new printer has been taken in account and to be honest I am already trying to convince a friend of mine to sell me its Pixma MG5350, but I am also scared by the...
I am not shure the issue is in the printhead, it seems more related to air infiltrating somewhere.
I'll do a few other attempts, I still have some PGBK InKTec Ink to finish :D
Thank you @stratman but I regret to say that I did nothing, just a PGBK head cleaning cycle.
The Cyan is showing a completely random behaviour, infact I did further nozzle prints and the issue appeared again.
The pattern is not always the same, some time an exact half is missing, some time...
Finally yesterday after dinner I found the time to make a cleaning of the parking pad area:
For first I removed the top cover, it is pretty easy, you just need a flat screwdriver to unlock the six plugs that keep the cover in place, two on the side, two on the back, two on the bottom (Please...
Why don't you reconsider a Brother instead?
They are very cheap and if you don't require the "Canon printed text" quality they are good value for money (e.g. DCP J 132W or 152W or even the pretty cheap new A3 models).
The cartridge's price is increasing but still cheaper than Canon\Epson\HP...
:D
I have the same feeling about the purge unit.
The only thing I still didn't do is inspect the black rubber gasket around the parking pad(s) for distortion.
After reading your today post in an another thread (MP500 again - Purge Problem...
Hi Turbguy, I am wondering what do you mean with "they should not intersect".
From the picture by @PeterBJ in post #5 it the soft sealing gaskets (Pgbk and colour one) "share" one side so what shown in the picture #21 it seems exactly the contour of the gasket\s.
I am asking because the...
I saw your post only after answering to The Hat. All the testing were done with the OEM Canon cartridge, so the ink starvation should not be caused by the cart (apart from having a defective OEM Canon Cart)
How?
Please note that I am using a brand new OEM Canon Cartridge
It seems that putting some ink drops into the inlet has somehow "sealed" the joint between the cartridge output and the printhead inlet.
But now I have no idea on how to proceed :idunno
Any Hint??
My felling was there was something strange, so after reading some posts about the some issue (e.g. http://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/solved-canon-mp830-new-pgi-5bk-and-new-reman-print-head-no-black.3819/) and following @turbguy advice...
@Robert the Bruce : Hi, I am experiencing the same issue as your with my IP4300. Just wondering if you were able to recover completely the PGBK issue and how.
Thank you in advance
