Hello again everyone. Now that the holiday is over we can get back to the fun stuff-fighting with inkjet printers!! The soaking job didn't help. I am really thinking now after stratman's input that I got a bad printhead or the printer corrupted it. I'm going to try to return it. I did get out...
I'm soaking the printhead as I type. Is the link below what you are looking for? To answer more of the questions these are all OEM carts, top filled. The plugs are tight & I have't had this particular problem before at all. I've put the carts I removed from the 830 into my Pro 9000 & so far they...
Thanks, Hat. But how is the cyan ink getting into the magenta part of the head? This is supposed to be a new print head. What about making a set of cleaning carts with windex in place of ink? That's the one thing I didn't try before I bought a new print head.
thanks again.
Hello All,
Well here I am back again with another problem with my MP830. I posted last fall about a stubborn magenta clog & got the printer working again with the help of the forum. What I didn't post was that after several days of heavy printing the problem returned so I finished that job on...
Okay, Hat! Here's one. How long do these little chip resetters last? I have the little blue one for Canon CLI-8 & CGI-5's I think I got it from Milking 2 or 3 years ago & suddenly it won't reset the chips. Can the batteries be changed? Time for a new one?
Thanks to all!

Success!! I;m printing again. And after following Hat's advise I'm not getting the smudges. This is the first time I've removed & cleaned one of my printheads. It all went as advertised. I haven't done anything about the Pro 9000 smudging on the back yet. It can wait. Thanks again to all.

Thanks for the quick reply. My ink is about 6 months old. This last round of refills pretty much got down to the bottom of those bottles. I flushed all my carts less than a year ago & they haven't been refilled more than once. I have about 70 carts for these 2 printers & I have wondered about...
Hello All & thanks for all the great info this forum offers. I just did a big (for me) printing with my MP830. I was printing greeting cards on heavy card stock. I let the printer rest a few days & then went to print a few more cards. The magentas were completely clogged-nozzles checks were...
Well Hat, I think I'll be calling Epson on this. Everything I tried with the drivers gave the same resuly as above. So I selected Ultrasmooth fine art paper from the paper choices which requires the manual rear feed. Printed perfectly. I did notice that the right hand edge of the paper (facing...
I was thinking along the lines you suggest, Hat, but I don't think that's what's causing it. I think it's the paper. I got tired of ruining my good paper so I pulled out a tablet of artist water color paper that I sometimes use. It printed fine. I went back to my 17" paper that I cut from rolls...
No, It's a PC. Windows 64. I normally print out of Photoshop so I also tried printing it from Windows Photo Viewer which I use for casual snapshot printing. Same thing.

Hey All,
Has anybody ever had this with an Epson 3800? It only prints about half the photo, cutting off the top. I had this happen when I first bought it (used) but I thought it was because I was feeding the paper from the wrong source. This only happens with large paper sizes- 16x20 or 17x22...
Thanks again for the GREAT feedback. I'm hoping for a score like filmguy got. I just want to avoid a mistake, especially with one of these 90 pounders. This forum is now my primary research medium. I learn more faster here than wading through specs I don't understand & the reviews on Amazon have...
Thanks for the input. I figured the 3880 would be the best choice for the hobbist/semipro because of it's not as heavy & bulky as the 4000 series. Lack of a roll feeder doesn't really matter-at least to me. But I guess for that reason they seem to hold their value better. 3880's sell at higher...
Hey All,
First thanks for all the help this forum has provided me with getting going on my own photo printing. I've been running a Canon Pro 9000 & I'm very happy with this machine but I must admit that I've been browsing Craig's list & Ebay for the bigger Epson printers. I'm interested for 2...
