Going on holiday for three weeks - risk of printer clog?

Hi all, i'm due to go away for three weeks soon and I have a Canon Pixma Pro 100s printer (dye based ink). Normally I make sure to print something every 2-3 days at least, just to keep ink flowing through the print head and to reduce the chance of clogs. However this obviously isn't going to be...

Canon 100s Smudges and Prevent Paper Abrasion Setting

Ah okay I didn't want to risk breaking it but it sounds less risky than I thought. I will investigate, thanks! :)

Canon 100s Smudges and Prevent Paper Abrasion Setting

Thanks for the reply. I don't think I'd want to risk cleaning it myself but there are any number of printer maintenance companies near where I live so I'll contact them and ask about it. :-)

Canon 100s Smudges and Prevent Paper Abrasion Setting

My Canon Pixma Pro 100s suddenly started leaving a black smudge on the trailing edge of the page when printing, always in the middle and always about the same size / amount of ink. I've tried running the bottom plate cleaning and roller cleaning cycles several times but it didn't solve the...

Printing .png images - getting lines around image bounding box

The software I'm using is called Sure Cuts A Lot, it's just a basic design package for arts & crafts type stuff. It should't be printing the lines though, in the image I attached, the bottom one is one I originally imported (as a .png image I designed and exported from Inkscape) and the top...

Printing .png images - getting lines around image bounding box

One of my hobbies is making my own stickers using my Canon Pixma Pro 100s and a vinyl cutting machine that I have. Every now and again when I'm printing an A4 sticker sheet, some of the images I'm printing from the sticker design software print out with thin black lines around two of the sides...

ICC profiles for Canon Pixma Pro 100s for non-pro software

It's okay I'm a fast learner, especially when I'm losing money on paper and ink... -_-

ICC profiles for Canon Pixma Pro 100s for non-pro software

Ah okay thanks. Yes I have a few applications that aren't as "high-end" as P.S. etc so there's not really any color management options, for instance in the vinyl cutter software I have there's no way to select ICC profiles or anything like that, so being able to select it from the driver at...

ICC profiles for Canon Pixma Pro 100s for non-pro software

In the video he only tells you how to use an ICC profile from within the Canon driver, he doesn't tell you how to install it within Windows.

ICC profiles for Canon Pixma Pro 100s for non-pro software

Hi I think it's just via the Canon driver. If I'm understanding it correctly, the driver will apply the profile when printing....so I'm not sure if it's also necessary to switch of colour management in the software you're using. I assume it is and that it'd be a good idea in the driver options...

ICC profiles for Canon Pixma Pro 100s for non-pro software

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I will have a look, it might be of help! I also found this, which is why I thought you can apply ICC profile via the driver, which I gather is something quite unusual for most printers:

ICC profiles for Canon Pixma Pro 100s for non-pro software

Hi all, I've been having problems getting the output of my Canon Pixma Pro 100s to match what's on my monitor (which has been calibrated so it's not that). I've found a UK based company that will make a custom ICC profile based on a print out that you send them. However the design software I...

Canon G5050 printer - 7,700 pages per ink set - OH REALLY???

Hi all, So I bought Canon's G5050 printer on the grounds that although the printer itself is a bit pricey it has very cheap running costs. The fact that Canon claim you can get up to 7,700 colour pages from each ink set was what sold it to me. So far I have printed out MAYBE 200 pages...

Canon Pixma Pro 10s issue with manual feed

About a week ago I sold my 18 month old Canon Pixma Pro 10s to someone who wants to use it to print on art-type canvas. He contacted me this morning saying although the front tray works fine, he can't get it to print via the manual feed at the rear. He says he's following the right process but...

Inkjet colour printer for home-run business (advice pls)

Hi all, I currently have a side-hustle which is designing and printing vinyl stickers for a small home-run business. I create the stickers using a Canon Pixma Pro 100s which does a great job, plus is easy to reflill with some great quality third party inks (Precision Colors). What I need...

Canon Pixma Pro 10s - clogged nozzles

Hi Mr Hat, Thanks for the quick reply. I actually ran the cleaning cycle a few more times, waited a day or two, printed, cleaned, printed again (and again). This was the advice of the shop, to just keep printing and cleaning. It seems to have actually worked and the print looks normal now...
