At the risk of sounding like I'm trying to do a little underhand promotion (given that this my post is about my OctoInkjet YouTube channel) I'd like to get some warts and all reviews of the current content so that I can improve pretty much everything from how I tackle the filming, setup and...
Rihac have been around for a very long time... Not sure about their inks and I'd be biased anyway ;) but they've stayed the course for more than a decade plus..
Definitely aluminium tape on a dry surface... works a treat...
Be warned though... the cheap knock off stuff is actually better as it's not quite as strong a seal as the branded 3M or similar. The latter grips on like it's on a cliff face :)
I "think" (and be prepared for me to get this wrong) it's actually an 0x71 error in which case it's this:
If my memory isn't completely shot I think the issue is likely one of the following:
Something is blocking the printhead ability to get back into it's parked position:
Check for any...
I've be a bit wary of using a syringe directly via the port as you might stretch it a bit too much. Use of a tapered plastic needle/tip as an adapter would provide a good seal. You would probably need to cut the length down to get a good fit but it wouldn't stretch the port too much and...
Hmm... I'll see if I can recreate that issue on the G2500 when I get a chance... As a general rule, moving any CIS equipped printer can result in pressure changes to/from the printhead so care to keep everything level is needed.
I'll report back as/when I get a chance to play... chances are...
You might want to check @Ink stained Fingers post about ecotanks here:
https://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/air-in-the-ink-supply-of-ecotank-printers.15105/post-132114
for the first printers problem.
As for the other one I'm guessing you have something creating a substantial air leak...
That's a bit of a coincidence... This thread coincided with a random thought I was having when I was explaining how to re-prime a third party CIS system due to the air ingestion issue. I didn't bother following up so a bit eerie to have the question answered without prompting!
*checks room for...
Just a somewhat quick look at the nozzle check and I can't help wondering if there's ink contamination from one of the cyan channels into the magenta channel. That points to a potential fault in the head itself. Or if the cyan, light cyan and magenta share a capping station (separate from the...
I might need a couple more to make it viable ;)
In all seriousness though, 700ml is just over 5 bottles of 125ml + one or two 50ml bottle volumes left over so if I can get a core of 3-4 people who are interested per colour that can commit, then that makes it viable.
That's always an option for...
Oh understood. Wasn't thinking of this from a business model point of view, more of a way of helping out. If there's sufficient demand to make it worth gathering together the cartridges and rebottling them I can take a look at it then.
As with all things there's a balance to be had between OEM and compatible inks so I'm not entirely surprised that those seeking the purest outcome are looking at harvesting OEM cartridges. That said, I'm wondering how feasible the process is if you don't have a spare 2-3 grand lying around to...
Can you provide a bit more information on your computer setup?
What anti-virus have you got installed?
Some AV software will continue to block hardware calls even when disabled. Only solution is to uninstall the AV software, do the FW update and then reinstall the AV (or get a better AV...
As it happens I finally did a video specifically for the Pro-10 and PGI-72 after resting on my laurels with the PGI-9 (Pro-9500) one for the last... yikes!... 7 years?!
Couple of things to add to some of the discussion here as pointers because it seems it might be useful.
Air only gets into...
Ironically the only thing that stopped OctoInkjet shutting down for 2+ weeks was the little un' getting a completely different virus a few days before boyo brought home his bio-science project to share with the family. I had to isolate for 4 days with little un at home, confirmed it was all...
Hey all... Trust you're all keeping well... Just wanted to confirm a pulse in case anyone had picked up on the fact that I've been offline at the store, with Covid this past week or so..
Got caught, had to rest, but vaccine did its thing and saved our assets from something worse so grateful...
Just to respond the confusion regards waste ink on Canon vs' Epson, there's a huge difference in design, capability and complexity involved.
Short version is that Canon (with a few limited exceptions) require massive amounts of disassembly to access the waste ink tubes and also to reset the...
I'll need to check this but I suspect the print count is a myth. What the printer does do however is calculate the amount of waste it generates, attaches a weighting that reduces the count or increases the overall trigger level over time (to account for liquid evaporation). The key factors that...
