Three of the "better" canon refill inks from previous tests,
now after six weeks under the UV bulb
(B&W print using all color channels)
None of them can compare to canon OEM carts "chromalive".
But this time BCI-1411 looks best to me..
- canon BCI-1411 (LFP carts)
- canon bottled GI...
Here is all you need, resp all they offer:
https://www.hahnemuehle.com/en/digital-fineart/icc-profile.html
The "handling instructions" are included with each profile download, it seems to be one for MK and one for PK each..
This seems to be more important than I thought!
So I modified your ruler: with a bar of "kapa" cardboard as a guide sticked on the top and a black paper on the bottom, cutted precisely to avoid false lighting. I left the white paper on top as it glides better than the black paper.
It's not...
Finally...makeprofile.bat is running..! :celebrate So you was right to insist, that it will work..
I think I had to move the working folder below/into my argyll folder..
One hour later: first prints turn out fine, very similar to those I printed with printerCAL (argyll GUI). The red tone...
Thank you for the instruction, Pharmacist... but I can't get your makeprofile.bat running..
..maybe I don't see the wood for the trees..
- If I first "open a command shell and type that makeprofile.bat" (as you said above)
there will be "enter filename ... enter name of .ti3 ... enter external...
Hi Emulator,
I'm now trying 3 different methods using argyll,
- the most convenient for users who don't want to learn anything regarding DOS command lines:
"PrinterCAL", a simple GUI for argyll, latest version (all beta!) 0.5.0:

Thank you for the target, Pharmacist!
Some time ago you have posted a "ruler set" including a different A4 target (660 patches) and a "makeprofil.bat".
- Is it possible to use this batch file together with the now posted 480target?
- Using a profile, do I have to print with a specific RI, like...
I'm learning a lot, what I didn't know and what I forgot, from your comments and by making mistakes...
After having noticed that the argyll profile from CAP480 seems to be "relative colorimetric", and setting the correct RI, the prints are very different, stronger reds in particular.
(therefor I...
Six prints (epson r800 and PC ink set on some cheap but decent matte paper "schwarzwaldmühle excelsior light 200g")
using three profiles, from left to right:
Colormunki software 1.2 / 1.1 / argyll with CAP480.bat
edit: I had to delete this image, because I have used the wrong rendering intent...
Okay here my resized and "zip compressed tif" files.. whatever this means.
I have no idea why the compressed differ so much in size,
the original "09.03.2017" (from the batch process) is 3.2 mb,
the original "480target" (from pharmacist) is 4,3 mb
Hope you can analyze both to see if they are...
That's what I did - with your CAP480.bat - result looks good so far, after a first quick and dirty profiling. But the other target is only the image file, therefor:
Thank you in advance
This is in fact the question which is bothering me too.
Just tried to zip and upload, but the files remain...
..well this isn't my favorite position as an "argyll dummy"..
IMHO only the user who had generated the original target has the included *ti1 and *.ti2, doesn't he??
Hi Pharmacist,
iIf I remember the "manual workflow" of argyll (without batch file) correct, I would need the *.ti1 and *.ti2 files to make use of your specific 480 patch target (the second in my posting), right?
But I have saved only the *.tif file ... where can I get these two other files?
ISF, the targets are jpg only for upload reasons, and I will certainly use the original tif for profiling.
My question as an argyll amateur was: if you choose a specific number of patches to generate a target, are there more settings which would affect the resulting colors of the target...
I just tried this batch file from the first post and it seem to work.
But the target which the batch program generates looks different from a 480 patch target, which I saw and downloaded earlier. This is probably by pharmacist, because the description is in dutch language.
My question: if you...
I'm not sure if they know ... yes really bad instructions, as usual from those sellers.
I once ordered an ink set from them, searching for better UV resistance and reliability of ink flow, but sadly I can't report any of their promises coming true. Went back to the sellers who know their stuff...
A picture says more than thousand words - please print a nozzle check and post it!
If the print head is really dead, which you also can say by looking at a nozzle check, you may consider a new print head. I wouldn't recommend any chinese refurbished ones, but I think the IP3000 is one of the...
Yes indeed.. what I want to say is:
the first target of one certain printer model seems to stay always the same, and so does the second target - which is certainly different from the first.
This no matter which ink or paper I profile... with the old and new version...
Now with the new version...
I can't say anything regarding the font issue, but printer profiling is different from the old version: first target is the same, but the second is totally different - with the same printer and setting.
And the actual profiling process takes much longer with the new version.
I have to add that...
