I'm anything but a profiling expert, using my colormunki with the old x-rite photo software.
But looking at your samples in post #9 (*) the main difference to my eyes is brightness. If you make an image daker, the saturation may look stronger, e.g. visible in the reds...
So could it be any ruler...
To me this seems to be a decent result - for a self diluted ink set. Sometimes I had much worse output with self diluted B&W ink sets... if the contrast and brightness, colors and tonality don't look really off, the colormunki can even out the remainig deviation. The better the set matches the...
Thanks for these insights in profiling and software.
But how does the epson paper come out of the 3880 if you let the driver / menu manage the colors? In other words how does the custom made ink set print out without custom profile?
I know you need a profile with self diluted 3rd party ink, but...
This ratios for LK and LLK seems to be very similar to one of my project calcullations
So if you have results, please tell us about "color maching", or how the actual ink set prints out
- by only setting the epson driver
- and how good it can get with profiling
It was one of my projects in 2015, when I researched several dilution ratios, sadly for the 8-color set only in theory, the 6-color sets also in practice. Remember your contribution?

The resetter from posting #14 (the second) and the same from posting #18 (Harry Briels JToolman) is still working on my 3880. But it wasn't updated since I bought it (used around 2015) and my newest cart expired around 2016 I think
But with resetters you will surely never be sure... because...
@Roman (sorry no kyrillyc lettters on my keyboard)
This is from 2015, when this resetter already did fail:
See the previous and following posts of this for the one resetter that did work.
And NEVER do update any firmware! NEVER ... at least not deliberately...
It's a commonplace, which I really got to know while testing some inks and changing the paper to LH 180g

(ISF just found that even the weight of this one paper brand may change fading results)
The...
My "desert lamp" seems to be weaker than in previous tests - or my paper better.
Because after one month the prints are showing less fading in general than I would have expected.
We know that AldiSihl is a much better paper than Labelheaven, I will use the cheap paper next time to speed up the...
For the same reason, carbon inks and special formulations ("Paul Roark's Lab" within their shop), I use to order a small package every 2-3 years at MIS.
And I have nothing to complain about, except the very high shipping costs, much more than from Canada (precision colors) or, no surprise, from...
Now that is promising... while seaching for the best resp. the most stable dye ink from manufacturer's ink tank systems...
... you may have found the first ink to refill Canon dye printers, which could be called (somewhat) "stable" .. or at least visibly slower fading than the rest ..?!
Can't...
Yes - offers are fewer than last year. If you still want to buy a 0064 for your own stock, see ebay item nr 141182466544 - seems to come from a reliable german source.
PS: while this is most probably a refurbished one, sold as new OEM: 162984624086
PPS: but besides I just have learned that the...
For the 4-color models (ip4000 etc.) printheads are hard to find ... or overpriced.
Only for the ip3000 new OEM printheads were available...at least last year..
As for the carts, it was easy to find a bunch of empty virgin carts on ebay, both CLI and BCI
I'm wondering why Epson has made another different set of bottled ink, because there are already these two sets: 4-color (T 664x) and 6-color (T 673x) in 80ml bottles.
Both do not share the same C-M-Y-K and the 6-color-set was one of the slower fading dye inks, though not as good as OEM or...
The epson bottled ink for L800 (original 6 colors) was quite good, as far as I remember our earlier tests, better than the 4 color set for the small L300 etc.
2 weeks results of 106 look promising.
Sadly all these epson dye inks cannot be used in a canon..
Now here HP comes into play, I just...
That's interesting news for me, some more dye inks bottled by the printer manufacturers.
Canon also offers inferior quality in their ink bottles, no chromalife. My fading tests were bad on cheap cast coated paper, much better on resin coated - but not as good as chromalife cartridges or fuji DL...
Recommended as a very good replacement for Canon "text black" PGI:

..and for heavy printing of B&W documents, here is one litre of the same ink, as far as I...
HP makes some of the best large format inkjet printers - but their A4 models should win the award for cartridges with the the smallest possible amount of ink - rather a moistened sponge, than any measurable liquid ... and the best prohibition of 3rd party inks or carts, even by remote firmware...
Same as ISF already mentioned. R800 and R1800 have the same carts and ink set, but I'm not sure about R1900. You may ask octoink.co.uk, the seller knows what he offers.
At aliexpress I have bought several sets of refillable carts for R800/1800, mostly working. But you may find different sets for...
That happened to me quite often with two r800, which I have dumped. Bad printhead or bad waste ink station, I don't know. I had to print some sheets with only GO until it cleared up... After some days of no printing the mix of GO with ink came back, same procedure: some sheets of pure GO...
