This weekend I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and to the speed increase is significant and all hardware was recognized properly, including my Canon MX850 and my Epson Pro 3800 printer, with some download of the apropriate 64-bit drivers from Canon and Epson, but one problem still exists: the firewire connection from my Canon i9950 A3+ printer is not working !!! I had to change to USB to have the printer recognized automatically, but I would like to have the printer connected to firewire, but I seems to impossible to have it working. As soon as I connect the usb cable, Windows 7 is immediately detecting the Canon i9950 and installs its internal driver without the need of downloading the driver from Canon.
I hope someone can help me with this problem :|.
