My daughter picked up an HP 4795 which uses 60/61 carts. I want to buy from Precision Colors where I get my Canon ink from but his HP ink lists compatibility with these carts only:

#21,22,27,28,56,57,92,93,94,95,96,97,98

Is it not a good idea to use this ink in the 60/61? mikling?

In Europe the type 60 cartridges are known as type 300. I have refilled these cartridges using the KMP-U pigment ink for Canon for the black cartridge and the dye inks suggested for the type 57 cartridge for the tri-colour cartridge.

The suggested IS WJ1020 ink for the black cartridge is also suggested for Canon BCI-3e and PGI-5. That's why I tried the KMP-U pigment ink for Canon, and it works well. The suggested cyan is WJ244, also suggested for CLI-x21C, the suggested ink for magenta is the WJ6053, also suggested for Canon BCI-6M, The suggested ink for the yellow is WJ7006 that is not used in Canon cartridges but is suggested for HP 564Y.

Photo printing is not perfect when using these inks for the HP 60 or 300 tri-colour cartridge, IIRC the colours were a bit too cold, but this might be corrected in driver settings ?.

If the printer is used only for plain paper documents, your IS ink set for any Canon printer will work fine. They will not damage or clog the cartridges.

I think that the reason Precision Colors have no suggestion for inks for these cartridges, is that this info is not available from Image Specialists. Their list seems to be neither complete nor updated. Here you can search for suggested IS inks for HP. Note that both type 60 cartridges and HP Photosmart C4795 are missing from the list.

I believe mostly for plain paper but I imagine she'll do some photo printing but not much.

Hmm.... It sounds like what you're saying is that I can use the same ink I put into my PGI-5BK and CLI-8 carts with no ill effects, just some color matching issues.

Thanks.
