I prefer one that allows for easy replacement of the button batter(s) inside. There were some issues with models in the beginning that shorted out or had difficulties securing a proper contact easily, but it seems these issues have been ironed out. I would not go for an expensive one or one with an extensive warranty. Mine is a blue Chinese-made no name and works flawlessly for the past couple years. Whatever you get is always susceptible to being a lemon.

YW, Ron350.

Buy from what appears to be a responsible seller. Check out comments if from Amazon or eBay. You can use http://www.resellerratings.com/ to find comments on "the store". Also, you could check the Better Business Bureau, but it's a long shot most chip resetter sellers are listed there.

One other thing, you could purchase from a trusted fellow forum member like Precision Colors on eBay or Octoinkjet and know you can always chat with them if need be.

I see that Websnail sells the Genuine Redsetter.
Wonder how much that would cost shipped to Alabama?

I bought the original Redsetter for PGI-5/CLI-8 cartridges some years ago when it first became available and it has served me well since.

One problem though, the battery life is less than stated in the ads, which claim it might outlast your printer, so I have had to change the battery a few times. The quality of cheap no-name CR2032 batteries varies a lot, some having a very short life.

I recommend spending the extra money and buy the USB powered version.
