I have thankfully sold my HP5380 M/C but I have some of the OCP Ink left which was formulated for the Hp364/564 Carts.

The Canon is running well so quiet after the HP and is currently using a variety of compatible carts which came with it that

whilst I would like to use up the OCP which is mostly the 2 blacks I do not want to comprise my current blissfull state.

Any advice appreciated. Also looking for empty BC-6 empty carts for future refllling.

Hi Barfl2,

yes you can use this OCP ink, because the printing technology is the same. The colours will be probably off, but this can be profiled for if you want accurate colours. As with your HP5380, the dye black goes in the tiny BCI-6 cartridge and the pigment black in the BCI-3eBk pigment cartridge. If you can't get the BCI-6 cartridge, try CLI-8 carts instead, because these are physically the same (beside the slope indentation and the chip, but will fit beautifully and the printer will use the prism underneath the ink compartment to determine the ink level). The PGI-5Bk however does not fit in the BCI-3eBk position however. I tried this before.

Hi Pharmacist Thank you for your excellent and informative advice much appreciated. Seemed a shame to waste good ink. On another note purging BCI -3eBK carts I do not have any OEM ones yet but purged compatible using an Intec Clip ex HP364xl which appears same outport size 6mm bore plastic tubing to the clips input other end into 12mm plastic tubing connected to my garden pressure sprayer filled with hot water seemed to work pretty well but of course my carts wre not old and dried up. But the intec clips are very useful and I may try refllling a BCI-6 with some of this OCP ink I have nothing to lose.
