That is one sexy lady, definitely a different design than the previous Pro. But what about the pigment inks -- is this thing printing pigmented colour inks? I thought most printers used dye based colours for better contrast and vibrance. (Downside is they can fade quicker.) Pigmented ink is said to have a smaller gamut, but these inks with the Lucia system should have a wider gamut according to Canon's info...

So what is this: a breakthrough in pigmented inks? And a new ink range by Canon? I'm just asking around, I'm still a but nooby ;)

Nice printer, why not A2 if it's really pro?
Nozzle size was not listed.

If you buy one now you still have to wait for a year to have the chips cracked, and compatible ink available. So after a year there will be ink+chips and printer will be cheaper by then, so it is really worth to wait.

More inks better quality ? Last time I tested a cheap pixma 1200 can print better photos then epson R2880 if the ink is right. For example fill pixma 1200 with HP wide format plotter ink, and fill the R2880 with ink made in china like inksystem.com makes.

So the cartridges contain about 30 ml's about the same range as the HP B9180 and the Epson R3000. I do not understand the introduction of an extra grey ink. I think 3 levels of black/grey should suffice and if they re-introduce the green ink.
