Here is my story. I am a college student who prints quite a lot of college material, papers etc. I print around 100 letter sized pages a week mostly in black white, using my canon mp280. As a printer it works fine, but I am sick and tired of having to swap cartridges month. It is expensive for one, and troublesome to order new cartridges often. And to think that suck a small amount of ink costs so much, it is just day light robbery. And the fact that companies go to the lengths they go in employing technologies to extend their profit margins, is appalling. I could print at my college. But it is expensive 15 cents a page. And more so since I am not on campus often, it is inconvenient on a day to day basis. I have read that refills are only possible to an extent that they eventually clog printing heads.
Anyway, what are possible solutions for my problem. I am ok with buying a new printer as long as it can guarantee me some amount of reliability while allowing some refill option. I am entirely ok with a monochrome printer. Please advise me on these matters.
And it must be entirely clear to you already, that I am total noob in these matters. To me a printer is just a way to get a better grade. No less no more.
