The hot wax I used to seal my cartridge has reacted with the pigment yellow ink and turned into a stalactite of sorts.
Instead of going hard instantly it has continued flow inside the cartridge as shown in the picture.:woot

There are at least four or more refills worth showing inside this cartridge, but this does not happen with dye inks, why?:idunno
I reckon it would have clogged up the cartridge eventfully after many refills or even restricted the ink flow in some way.

All of them! LOL
The Hat, why were you refilling through a hole, rather than your "Freedom Method" variant of the way I do it as well. That must be an old cart right?

Take care.

I warned you not to use sex wax , uncle!

Some questions:
How old was the wax before you applied it to the cartridge?

Do you recall the particular brand name of the glue?

What kind/brand of glue gun did you use and at what setting (if any)?

Any other pigment ink cartridges with this phenomenon?
It could be application technique such as an excessive amount of hot glue applied, an excessively elevated temperature of the ink during application that allowed it to travel further before cooling enough to stop flow from advancing, an odd heretofore unknown characteristic of hot glue, or a peculiar reaction between the pigment ink and the wax, ...?

You really come up with some doozies, uncle The Hat!

jtoolman Yes it is an old cartridge that is why I was pulling it apart as its no longer useful.

stratman Now how did I know this would spark your interest, the sex wax as you rightly suggested would work great
if I only used the cartridge for a surf board.

I asked the question only because I had never seen this reaction between pigment ink and wax before.
The amount I use to reseal the cartridge is very little about 2 mm dia. ball size on the outside of the cartridge..
