anyone here grab those 2 new MP830s that were on ebay a week or so ago ? they went for $200 and $150 shipped.

i was tempted to bid, but already have a new MP830, IP4500, two MX700s, four 890s(paid $36 each) and eight MX860/870s as backups. can never have too many backups, right ? especially with the new carts

the wife disagrees....

so what's the count for "way too many backup printers" ?

All of them! LOL
I now have 4 Canon PRO 9000MKIIs Three are new in box and one being used. The cheapest was $75 andf others between $100 and $140.00

Also have 2 PRO 9500 MKII one new in box and one being used.
Have a cheapo Epson CX7400 new in box that came free when I bought a PC tower a while ago.
Also have a new in box R800 collecting dust. I have two R1900 and one R2000 so I don't see the point to set it up. All of them use Gloss Optimizer. Why do I have it?
It was offered for FREE on Craiglist by a local very elderly gent who simply didn't want to even set it up. I gave him one of my framed and signed 13 x 19 prints for it.

My sig has the rest of the printers I currently have connected and currently using. I would have to pare down some of them if I ever expect to maybe get a PRO-100 PRO-10 or PRO-1
Even I know when too many printers is to many printers.

Joe,

The situation is NEVER too many printers, but rather too little space ;-)

Thank GOD my wife really never steps foot in my dungeon! Now if I could just avoid the confrontations when the POST man or UPS man arrives.

Nothing wrong with that! I just need to learn to make do with less of them.
I also have all the printers on external waste units and 3rd party options. All are treated will plenty of TLC and carefully maintained. Many I've bought used ( unwanted and ignored is more accurate ) and I revived them all and got them to perfect working condition. Unlike their previous owners!

How could I say goodby to my children!

nice to hear that i am not alone with the "can never have too many backup printers" obsession

my UPS delivery guy even knows not to drop off any Printers in his usual location and to place them on the side of the garage....

new reality TV show concepts:
1. "Printer Hoarders", when one is not enough
2. "Sister Printers ", print on a different printer every night

others ?
