ruined print head?????

hey guys i think i ruined my print head but i dont know how.i had problems with my mp530 i wasnt getting any black out of my bk cart (the smaller of the two blacks) i did all the recomended procedures and finally got the ink to flow through when i had it setting on paper towel(i put the ink on just the smaller screen) But it still didnt print when i did a nozzel check or when i printed a photo???? so i thought i was clogged again soaked the head again now i get a error check cartridge UO52 I HAVE tryed resetting cartridges and clean contacts but nothing now i cant fax (yes i still fax quit a bit L.O.L or use the scanner) any other suggestions so i dont know if i should buy a print head because they are non refundable( i wouldnt mind it if my ip4200 used the same head then i would keep it for that but read that they are different heads)

How long after soaking your print head did you wait before putting it back in the printer? Did you completely submerge it?
