just wondering what people thought of the quality of Rihacs inks are like.
Seeing they probabally make one of the best CiSS systems I thought I would ask to find out what people thought of their ink.
I would like to buy some to refill into cli-8 tanks rather than go down the CISS route. They seem a pretty good price and easy to order in Australia.
I will probabally end up getting some pigment ink somewhere else as they don't sell pigment. I take it there shouldn't be a problem using another brand pigment with Rihac ink?

Rihac inks are one of the best around, fade resistance is excellent I have placed a test chart out in full sun for 2 weeks and no fading is noticeable.
I only use the dye inks in all carts and the colour photos are very close to OEM inks and only costs about $1.00 per fill, so far I have refilled the carts 9 times without any problems. If you need 50mm needles send me an email.

Bob.

Just as a generic thing... It shouldn't be a problem unless you're talking about mixing them in which case "Noooooo!!" :)

If you're wanting colour matching and photo quality though you should consider getting a profile done for the inks for which there are a few services around.

When you say mixing them what do you mean specifically?
I would use Rihac in the CLI-8 and a different brand pigment in PGI-5.
My understanding (correct me if wrong) is that when printing photos, all colour would come from CLI-8 carts and when printing plain paper it would use PGI-5 for text,
so therefore using 2 different brands would be OK?

I mean together in the same cartridge, a la' witches brew which you obviously don't mean but I thought best to be safe than sorry :)

That seems to be the way it works to a certain degree but I think (prepares to shoot self in foot), that there might be some use of the PGI-5... I think it depends on the quality and media setting...

At this point I stand aside to let someone who actually knows, tell you.
