hey guys, ive been browsing for a while and decided to sign up so i can ask couple of questions.

heres my info

Printer: Canon ip4500
Ink: Hobbicolors
Paper: Regular White

1. when i print solid colors, i get a very little just effect... what causes that?
2. when i refill, lets say i dont put a full cart back in, will the nozzle dry? or is there a certain time i have to refill and put it back?

Thanks!

The nozzle won't dry as long as you've got ink flow and the printer is properly turned off so the heads are parked. I have noticed on rare occasions I'll get some mixing of colors if I overfill a tank, fixed with a cleaning cycle if it's particularly bad I'll order up a deep cleaning cycle, but if you're refilling and still getting blank lines you may need to flush your ink tanks.

Please post an image so we know what you are trying to describe.

The best practice is to have at least one full set of carts on standby so that a spent cart can be replaced immediately.
It is not good practice to leave a printhead "uncovered" while the user monkeys with a cartridge refill session, although some will get away with it.

The cartridge should be put back into the printer as soon as the cartridge is refilled. The nozzles can dry up if you don't. I can refill a cartridge in less than 5 minutes. I have taken 10 minutes and my printer was still OK. I won't let my cartridge out for longer than 15 minutes.
