Having a problem with these cartridges, used in stand alone fax machines - not being accepted after refill. Is there a trick to getting the fax machine (UXB750) to use a refilled cartridge that is reading as empty??

This may or may not help. but..... Most Sharp cartridges are made by Lexmark..including yours. As such, they are susceptible to a few problems.
One of them is the fact that some models - I'm not familiar with yours-, remember the last 2 cartridges. If you have any old cartridges lying around, put one in. It'll tell you that the cart is empty. Put in a 2nd empty, and you should get the same error. By the time you put in the refilled cart, the ink level might show as full.

Make sure all contacts are clean. Also, see if your model has a reset button which would allow you to reset the fax machine's memory.

These cartridges are horribly expensive.... Perhaps you could purchase a compatible if needed. If you live near a Staples store, gather up all cartridge empties from your friends. when you have a dozen or so, bring them to Staples, which usually will give you $3.00 ea for good condition used cartridges, and trade the empties for a new cartridge for yourself.

In any case. good luck!!
