Refilling Canon Pixma IX6550

Hi, I am new here and also new on refilling cartridges.
I would like to find a good kit but I can't decide which ink is good for Canon Pixma IX6550.
I was browsing on many websited looking for ink refilling kit but there are so many offers and price range is big some bottles are few $ for 100ml and some cost 20$ for 100ml.
I can't decide which ink is best for that printer because I wouldn't like to clogg the printhead.
Same goes for cartriges, some say we need to be careful about cartriges too and every store says their ink/products have the highest quality soo which one can I believe?
I found on cityinkexpress kit for that printer but has anyone tryed using their ink and are they alright?
Also this might be a stupid question but how many refills approximately can those cartridges have? I was reading sometime ago somewhere saying that a sponge might not be able to support ink weight...

InkTec inks are pretty good for Canon refills
but I personally switched to OCP brand inks on Canon printers, my wife has the "last" canon printer at home its IX6550, same as you have CYMK plus pigemented blacks

its a neat printers if you calibrate it, it prints rather fast compared to a same price region epson printer but its really a ink hog.
I would like to convert the ix6550 from plai in catriges to CISS since my wife print 50 sheets SuperB/A3 paper in a row

You have come to the right place to get advice for refilling and good quality inks
but first can you tell us where in the world you are, country, region ?

Once you do that then we can point you in the right direction of a good ink supplier
that will have all the things youll ever need to start refilling..

Thank you for your replies, I was first thinking about installing CISS but since many people are saying that success rate is very low with Canon printers I would then just refill cartridges manually.
I am from Slovenia but I can still order from web to ship it here.

As Slovenia is only just up the road it would be dead easy for you to get what you need in octoink.co.uk,
if youre not sure what you want then ask their customer service for advice they will help you decide, do let us know how you get on.

Filling your cartridges is just about the best way to print with the 6550, you have the option of using opaque or clear cartridges
but whichever one you choose its far better than an CISS could ever be..
