Hi all,

I am new here. I have searched the forum and found out that there are several suppliers sells good quality refill ink in Australia. These are Rihac (http://www.rihac.com.au) and Inktec (http://www.inktec.com.au).

I have canon pixma mx715 which uses pgi-525 and cli-526. Do you guys have any experience of using Rihac or Inktec ink?. I noted that some people in this forum has some problem with Inktec ink in the long run. Is that true? Is it the same Inktec supplier in Australia? I noted that in Inktec website there is offer for bulk ink for half price, is it worth to get them? (what does it mean by bulk? :/)

Or any other recommended ink suppliers that will not cause trouble to my printer in the long run?

Thanks

The two inks that you mention will work quite evenly well on your MX715 but they are from two different sources.

Rihac ink is got from the US (Image Specialists), maybe thats why it's dearer
and Inktec ink is Korean based but its source is unknown, most lightly Korea or possibility China ?

The word BULK ink means its supplied in bottles and not in cartridges and is mainly used for refilling purposes.

Of the two inks I would go for Rihac simply because I reckon its the better of the two,
and we definitely know its from a good quality ink manufacturer, so it gets my vote..:)

Inktec is a Korean company. I tested their HP ink for resistance to sunlight, and it was excellent. It's also quite close in color to OEM, except that magenta is a little more vivid. I like their ink a lot, for HP. Oddly, there are reports that it is poor for sunlight resistance. This may be ink for other printers. The ink for Canon would be a somewhat different formulation than what I have. In the U.S. it is sold either in small kits, or in rather large bottles on the Internet. GHWellsJr reports in this forum that some Inktec pigment black is (or was) capable of gunking up the waste ink/purge system. I don't think anyone knows whether that extends to currently marketed inks or to ink for your printer.

Image Specialists ink has the reputation of being the among best of any ink for color-matching OEM, and my experience confirms that for HP. I found that the fade resistance is poor, but there are other reports to the contrary (for other printers).

They're both good, and reputable. I think you're just going to have to try one or both and see.

Thanks a lot. I will compare which one is cheaper. ;) I dont mind the quality though, as long as it didnt damage my printer in the long run. :D

You might want to check on that...

I'm pretty sure Rihac inks are not US based, much less from Image Specialists but I could be wrong..

The last time I heard they were in Auz (Some time ago) but as economic times change
so they could have easily switched over to Korean products, and I have no way of checking it out now.

So in the words of websnail "You might want to check "

Yes Rihac are in Melbourne but the last time I looked it was cheaper to get my inks from Precision Colors or Octoink. On the Rihac web site it states ""With ink base products supplied from Both Cabot's (USA) and Diamond (UK)""
