R-JetTek OCP Inks for the 38xx series

Three years ago I ordered 1 liter of each OCP color for my 3800 and 3880. They have been great and I have run thousands of prints through each printer with this ink. As a result, I am nearly out of most of the popular colors so I went to RJetTek to place another order for:

• BKP200
• BKP201
• BKP202
• BKP203
• CP200
• CPL201
• MP209
• MPL210
• YP200

It doesn't look like RJetTek carries these anymore which is unfortunate. I plan to call tomorrow but wondering if anyone else has had issues getting these from RJetTek or OCP?

I only can recommend to do some comparitive tests with several inks, everybody has his own personal judgement criteria, pricing, ease of availability, black level, bronzing , the actual look of prints on your papers etc.
But besides that I was not happy with OCP inks and switched already a long time ago.

In the US & I ordered from RJetTek before. Shipping was reasonable as was cost. My initial impressions about ordering from the EU was that shipping to the US was horrific for bulk ink.

While I don't use the OCP inks on glossy or luster paper because of some known issues with bronzing and differential, they have been great on Matte and art paper types. No issues at all and they seem to be fairly archival based on my very informal tests

But besides that I was not happy with OCP inks and switched already a long time ago.

Today I mainly use satin-type paper and now and then perl. However Satin is a group of several types. Shallow, Deep, medium etc - and depending on manufacturer those surfaces varies and not to forget QUALITY.

Why? - I find it hard to place glossy photos on most walls because they are sensitive to reflections Especially as you have varying light on the surface during daytime and when you turn on the light in the evening you might experience something you do not like at all. OK - you get more punch and gamut out of a glossy type of paper - however as we discussed before - choices of paper (and ink) have many variables - reflections is one.

A bit of Photoshoping and knowledge can compensate a bit to get that very punch and better satisfaction also on a satin type of paper.

That said I love the printing result in itself on a glossy paper and uses them as well.
Add to that - you often get instant good results on glossy. Satin-types are harder to master!
It takes time to find one at a reasonable price with some quality (pay some extra for more quality that is!). After that you must test and learn to master it. If You find a good satin and is satisfied - you do not change that paper easily. Then You have to start all over again.

As Ink Stained fingers with inks - I do not do recommendations - acceptance varies!
It's up to You for testing and exploring!

I was using the OCP dye ink my Canon printer from RJetTek for several years. No issues with it. Cheap too.

On the recent clean out of the Cone K7 inks in one 3880 that was plugged well in the PK Black, after the clearing out I switched it to color dye from BCH Technologies. They also sell a clear dye that I used to cut the black and the magenta, cyan to the light shades. BCH Technologies was very fast shipping and the bottles are 500ml premium dye for about $26 each (USA and now on sale for $19.93/500ml.). They also sell an even cheaper dye as well as their premium dye. Their clear dye base is smaller though (100ml, ~$8) and it will take maybe 3 bottles to dilute it for the LK and LLK Blacks, LM, and LC.. I see no bronzing at all even on Pictorico Glsss White Film with any of their colors. I use BasICColor Catch 5 and dropRGB 2 for profiling and found the Epson driver is better with a +20% load of their ink too.
